I think though, when it was announced people complained how small the venues on Mastodons tour was, and linked it to being a high slot at a summer festival.

Last time they toured im sure most of the venues were 2500 size academies? Or small academies at least.

And they've still sold out Brixton, and most of the other dates of this tour aswell. I don't see them headlining second stage, however.

I can't see bands that are over here as regularly as Mastodon, Limp Bizkit and Stone Sour getting that much hype. Seriously, I'm not a massive fan of any of them, but I think I've seen them all at least 3 times over the last 5 years. It's a bit "meh".

Yet despite that I can't shift this horrible feeling it's going to be old Brian Warner headlining the second stage Friday. He's in Europe, and is exactly the sort who would request "cover of night"... would be alright if we didn't know already that he's shit live.

REALLY hope that its Wolfmother and not Steel Panther

Steel Panther don't deserve that slot yet IMO, and two joke bands back to back isn't good running order for me, are Steel Panther really bigger than Trivium?

Whats everyones thoughts on Megadeth? Think its a poor booking for me they only playing two years ago, same spot AND they had Lamb of God under.

Im just not fussed, hope theres something on 2nd

Did you see Andy say 5 of the 14 acts have never played Download before, 1 however of those 5 played the old Monsters of Rock

And 2 of those 5 that have never played are gunna be on Main Stage

It's QOTSA I reckon on Friday 2nd. But then again, the Q fits with the Queen logo also with all the talk of them headlining Soni, I'd say that is a bit of a joke booking them to headline main stage if they're doing 2nd at DL.

I'm pretty sure thats the Q from the QOTSA logo. And would fit in with andys comment about being INSANELY good. I'd say thats an amazing booking.

I initially thought queens of the stone age but none of the logos matched. Then it dawned on me queen and the rip of the paper sort of gives it away as it matches the flick on the Q from the logo.

And I'm sure queen could be described as insanely good, obviously not as good without Freddie but fits with the older audience quotes.
