yeah. its possible they're at reading and leeds. they've subbed at that festival so many times though, I can't see it happening again this year.

They've tweeted their definitely not playing at R+L, and looks like the subs are going to be Florence, Black Keys and Kaiser Cheifs,

I must have missed the point where Bloc Party became so popular. Amazed by the support for them here. Not that I hate them or anything, jsut that they wouldn't even register on my wish list...

Here's my theory - he's rumoured to be doing a tour later this year. He did Glasto 08 and loved it. R&L isn't his scene, neither is TitP. Isle of Wight has their whole line up announced and one of Leonard's breakthrough gigs was at the Isle of WIght in 1970.

That booking would make the festival.

could the maccabees pull it off? if the xx can sub, a band with 2 more albums and a huge dedicated following could headline above them surely?

i suggest this because i'm currently listening to rob da bank on radio 1 with the maccabees choosing their A-Z of favourite tracks and it's given me the idea.

saying all of that, bloc party would make a lot more sense. UK festival exclusive would be huge for Bestival and they would fit well after the xx

As I have said before, I really cant think who the Sunday headliner could be, Sigur Ros could headline ANY festival easy, so for them to sub someone else, the headliner must be immense....

I was delighted when I thought Orbital and Sigur Ros were headliners haha. I don't think Sigur Ros care too much about where they play, from what I've read they're really modest and bullshit-free. I'm sure they're happy to play wherever.

It's just, when I listened to the podcast I swear I remember him saying "whenever I get them", "I'd be straight on Twitter when I get confirmations", etc.
