Tolnai Soma
I've seen them on many fake posters so far. Melvin said, there won't be too much metal acts, but Slipknot would be good I reckon. What do you think?
Vieuphoria
Think it'd be a good sub for Foo Fighters. Not announced much in terms of touring though. Could happen, would be a decent booking, but I doubt it.

Vieuphoria
I still think they're shits for dropping out in '08 and not coming back the next year, instead opting for Download. Bastards. That said, I would like to see them I guess.

Hawky
I think they are too big to sub. Every other festival they've played they have headlined. Possible third headliner?

gazza_20
In the UK, they have only headlined two festivals that are not the same size as R&L.

RichieParf
Download is about the same size as Reading and bigger than Leeds
gazza_20
But when download book them, they only have to sell 90kish tickets, if R&L booked them, while they are individually the same size as d/l, between them, with one lineup, they have to sell 180k tickets. RichieParf
This is pretty much my reason for saying it. R&L together is 170k people.

2rare2die
I know Download is aimed at a different demographic to R+L, and that Slipknot are a better 'fit' at the festival, but did any of you see the crowd they pulled when they headlined in '09? It was absolutely huge!
Hawky
But the two festivals are in completely different areas. If Slipknot did play or even headline they could attract a lot of people, always have amassive crowd at everyone of their shows.
Bisque
DL isn't that far from Reading... considering there are ppl coming from North Scotland & N. Ireland to Bestival. Slipknot would be a great sub, were epic at Sonisphere & if Melvin's blowing his wad on headliners & subs I see no reason why they would complain playing 2nd fiddle to Foos/Greenday but not Kasabian/Killers. Edit: or System? Who I'd personally think Knot would overshadow them. They were class at Soni. Edited February 17, 2012 by Couchy
