There will be no new Slipknot album this year. There is a POSSIBLITY one could be released in 2013 but nothing is set in stone regarding the writing and recording of the album.

bumping this as there's a statement on slipknots facebook saying that they have a big announcement monday. whatever that says most likely will influence the future/ and whether they will be playing in the foreseeable future.
