No. T is in Scotland, not England. Kasabian will be an English exclusive for R/L's.

Out of the bands on the lineup that could play Reading?

New Order maybe? Though I assume not.

Kaiser Chiefs

The Temper Trap

The Darkness

Miike Snow

Mastodon

Pulled Apart by Horses

Tribes

Two Door Cinema Club

The Courteeners

The Maccabees

Enter Shikari

Major Lazer

Rizzle Kicks

Peter Doherty

Chase & Status

Skrillex

fuck it... it's more than likely most could appear. Better off listen the ones who won't be there :)

So what's with all of these 'exclusive' deals?

As well as R&L/V exclusivity some bands sign deals to only play exclusively to a particular festival in each country. For example IOW signed Foo Fighters as an England & Wales exclusive last year, the Prodigy are a Download festival exclusive this year and Bestival have the xx and Sigur Ros as UK festival exclusives this year (be careful of the terms England and UK, not knowing the difference has made fools out of a lot of people).

R&L and T shared headliners in 2005, 2008 and 2009 so it does happen. If R&L happen to have headliners that no other UK festival has then they'll make a claim about having UK exclusives, if they share a headliner with T then it'll be English exclusives (or they conveniently forget the Englsh bit and claim they're exclusives without going into detail).

As with Mastodon, promoters either lie or are very vague about details and are happy to mislead punters if it leads to ticket sales. Happens all the time, as per R&L last year.

With Kasabian headlining T, can they be ruled out for R/L? Also, what bands off their bill do you think will play both? Chase and Status would go down well. I'd like to think Noel too but seems nailed on for V

I just can't believe the repeats - Kasabian headlining 2010 and 2012 for crying out loud! And Snow Patrol 3 times in 6 years too (Despite constantly falling in popularity over that time). Makes me glad I go to Reading which, for all its supposed faults in having weak headliners last year or whatever, have never only had a band have just one year off between headline sets, only once had a 2 year gap and a couple of times a 3 year gap.

Blink 182 for Example were a UK exclusive and therefore only played R/l that year and no where else in the Uk

Most over bands will be just England

I assume what i am about to say is correct, makes sense anyway

R/L will have to pay more money for a band to be UK exclusive rather than just England. So they'll only do this when there is a High demand to see a band and therefore just by that band playing the festival it will sell more tickets, Blink reforming in 2010 is a good example of this, as obviously there were a high number of people wanting to see them therefore by making them Only play 1 show in the entire of the Uk was going to increase the chances of the festival selling out.

I Don't think the demand to see Kasabian is as high as that of Blink 182's
