No, just bored. Also lovecats/ high ('kitten as a cat/ smitten like that')/ all cats are grey/ Let's go to bed ('look as perfect as cats') - Theres just four, and i think its pretty safe bet they get a mention in more songs. Plus although i think their alright and will probably give them a watch, i think its unfair to claim that people are ignorant if they don't like the cure, or arcade fire, or radiohead. N fair enough, not looked at the facebook, just going off people ive told and their reaction.

Haha maybe its just pets, not come across any dog lyrics, will have to delve deeper. And i may have just mis read the wording, came across that he/she was claiming people were ignorant for not recognising those bands brilliance, fair enough if not. But anyway, id fear the worst for the cure's crowd if they were up against either two door (which is disgusting) or chase n status.

I have seen the Cure live a few times { including a fantastic set at Glastonbury many years ago when they were playing and there was a huge thunder and lightning storm {it was either 1986 or 1990 } which was firing off right behind the Pyramid stage - it was a amazing show and we had a fantastic view - this was the old Pyramid stage that pointed up the hill so the audience had a elevated view.

This will be my 24th Reading and most of the time I don't bother watching most of the Bands unless they are very special so if it is The Cure that will be a extra bonus and I certainly will not miss it.

Does anyone else think the Cure can't compete with the other headliners.

I know album sales don't reflect much, but the Cure charted 33 with their last album.

Kasabian and Muse have had solid 1's, Pulp, the strokes, even the Maccabees have done much better.

Has Neil confirmed the Cure are headlining solo, or does anyone else think it will be like Pulp/Strokes last year.

I agree that if they wanted artists with high record sales, they would just get Adele :L

I also agree that they are important to Britsh music culture;also I live in West Sussex, so I think it would be great for a "local" band to headline.

But Reading seems desperate to have the best headliners possible this year, and it seems weird that they would pick the Cure for that.

I'm just gunna put it out there that I think there will be more than 3 headliners this year.

I don't get why everyone is saying Foo Fighters is such a good headliner...they play festivals all the time and are pretty dull live to be honest. I think The Cure is a great headliner, I hope they run Lock Up against Kasabian + Foo Fighters so I can see the Cure but unfortunately I don't think thats very likely :(

Whilst The Cure are a good booking imo I think people are expecting them to be a bigger draw than they actually are, Bestival (a much smaller festival) didn't sell out till half a month before and one of the reason why The Cure always have such demand when they play is because they rarely play and when they do it's only a few venues if that, it's not as if they have attempted and sold out a full arena tour in years.

Cure, Kasabian, Foos is good, but doesn't seem like "THE line-up of line-ups" from the perspective of the general public. Seems generally equal to last year if not slightly lower.

Last year also had a top charting British band (Muse), one of the most popular international bands (MCR), and an older British band (Pulp)

Is Neil sure the Cure won't sub?
