thetime
Got a feeling you might be disappointed with Hot Shit (I mean Chip) live.
thetime
that said.... how many times can they keep pulling off a sub slot playing those kind of venues. I've a feeling that Bloc Party will be this generations Ash, or Feeder... bands who are big at the festival and will always get booked, but in lower and lower slots. I can't see them becoming huge, and the only way seems to be down for them.
the wonderwhy
This autumn and wikbter going to be great for gigs, the last year hasnt been much for my tastes at all. With radiohead, bat for lashes, hot chip and bloc party already lined up.
jonodillieono
Tbf the album isn't even out yet and they might be underestimating how in demand they are. If the album takes off and those dates sell out instantly then they might do a 2nd tour with bigger venues. That said, Manchester Warehouse Project? lol
BTK1609
Just to clarify I never thought they were anything like big enough to headline (look back at any of my previous posts on the subject). It's just that they featured in a big percentage of predicted line ups.
2rare2die
Or they could lose there popularity, split up and go missing and headline on there comeback. Bit like pulp!
rug568
They're playing at Cambridge Corn Exchange. To put that in context Bombay Bicycle Club sold it out in a day.
thesecretingredientiscrime
I don't think it really matters they're playing there. I think if there's a lot of hype around the tour, acts can play anywhere. Unfortunately for BP, it appears their restart has not been given as much attention as it could have done. gazza_20
I would put Kaiser Chiefs in that same category. I think for next year Bloc Party would be a weak sub but a strong 3rd/NME headliner.
eFestivals
I think only one is a good shout and that's Biffy Clyro IMO at the mo. I think myself and others would be surprised did they not headline it. Unless they suddenly become hugely mainstream-popular, I reckon they'd be tried out as a headliner first at Download before Live Nation/Fest Republic would want to take the risk of them headlining Reading/Leeds. thetime
I think I am just jealous that you're seeing Radiohead.... Just be careful the stage doesn't fall on you
Yellow_Fellow
Aren't these gigs the same kinda size MCR were doing though in 2010?

madday_
I think they might headline TITP next year. From what i've heard the Scots go mental over Scottish bands, so I doubt it would be too conversational if they headlined. Considering they're subbing at IOW and Download and headlined Sonisphere last year. Surely they can't be that far off? Considering Arcade Fire and MCR have headlined in the last two years, and Biffy are bigger than both were before the line up was announced, I really can't see that popularity is really that much of a problem. Gucci Piggy
Didn't the Fratellis headline one year? Biffy are definitely a lot bigger.
kaosmark2
Nahh, they subbed in 08 I think.
Chinaski_
Biffy Clyro? Ugh... Am I the only person who finds them incredibly dull?
Gucci Piggy
Still seems a ridiculous placement for them. Edited June 18, 2012 by Will-2609
the wonderwhy
I agree, but they did sub Glasto the same year.
