eFestivals
I think it at least shows they have spirit. Even though they Viva Brother, Kill The Arcade and Wolf Am I didn't really work out they still try going for their dream which is to make it as musicians. the sad thing that also says tho is that at best they're craftsmen rather than artists. jazz565
I disagree with that. They can't be that passionate or dedicated to their music when they get bored of their pop-punk, emo, gritpop, synthpop or whatever sound every 10mins and ditch it for something new. There are people like Seasick Steve who play music for decades without success because he has spirit and loves his music. TBH they remind me of children who love Pokemon and then get bored of it and then love Transformers, who then get bored of that and love Avengers instead and so on. mrtourette
If that was the case then why not keep the band name and just write different music? Bands change genres and experiment, but these clowns split up every time and then come back with a new name and a new image. That's not just naturally developing a different taste in music, that's deliberately manipulating and re-branding.

gazza_20
Haven't posted on here for aaaages but maybe something like: Friday Linkin Park - Don't see playing it again. Dizzee Rascal Placebo Brand New Bring Me The Horizon Dropkick Murphys A Day To Remember Skindred We Are The In Crowd Saturday Biffy Clyro Franz Ferdinand - Not with a bump up smaller headliner in Biffy surely? Editors Noah and the Whale Miles Kane Foals Alabama Shakes The Joy Formidable Metric Sunday Blur Bloc Party - I think they can still do it, sold Vampire Weekend MGMT Two Door Cinema Club - If new album fly's they could do higher but again really? We Are Scientists Yeasayer The Naked and Famous Pure Love Yeah Yeah Yeahs and The XX as two of the NME Headliners. Maximo Park to sub headline NME one night. Other Festivals: Download Festival Rammstein, Avenged Sevenfold - Don't see a sub again, Soni could get them as a small headliner. Slipknot, Deftones Iron Maiden, Smashing Pumpkins - You'd be lucky getting Billy to sub at R&L, let alone Download. Sonisphere System of a Down, My Chemical Romance and Black Sabbath headlining. Bullet For My Valentine, Paramore, Queens of the Stone Age, 30 Seconds To Mars and The Darkness all high up.I think MCR is the only realistic headline option, soad appear to not being doing much with Serj continuing solo stuff. And you have 2 bands that at a fest that size are looking to make the headline step up while another on a new album is probably close at a fest like this. Can't see them all agreeing as Neil said, if it flops, it has an impact on future sales and booking prices for those bands. T in the Park Biffy Clyro - Yes, Kings of Leon - No and Muse - Not again so soon surely? V Festival Lady Gaga, The Strokes Foo Fighters, Mumford & Sons Isle of Wight The Prodigy - Yes, The Killers - and Muse - I could see both but they generally get an older legendary headliner. Glastonbury Lady Gaga, Radiohead and The Stone Roses - I thnk The Stones will be there. With Mumford & Sons and Florence as sub headliners. - Yup, can't see Mumford playing below that, subbing Other way about 3rd ish on pyramid I'd say and with a new album. Flo - no less. Arcade Fire and Prodigy as Other stage headliners. - Acade won't play below sub at the most and given they didn't like it last time, they'd go for more dosh and where the headline spot is, Bestival is up there. The Prodigy - subbing the main stage if they play it and that's what makes me doubt it. Pearl Jam at Hard Rock Calling Arcade Fire headlining Bestival Last two are very feasible. Vieuphoria
Arcade Fire are way to big to play the other stage. Headliners or nothing else. Also the Prodigy played the other stage in 2009. Considering they've got a new album out next year i can't imagine them being in the same position. Also Lady GaGa is shit so she better not fucking play at my first Glastonbury the stupid bitch. thetime
. How would Lady Gaga headlining your first Glasto affect you in any way? There will be hundreds of alternatives, go elsewhere?
jump
2 things. 1. Arcade Fire are not a band that HAVE to headline the Pyramid. They could easily sub. I don't think they have a ego that requires they're booked for headline slots. 2. In what way is Lady Gaga a stupid bitch? and how is she shit? 3. How would Lady Gaga headlining your first Glasto affect you in any way? There will be hundreds of alternatives, go elsewhere?
Vieuphoria
damn. My last 2 points were supposed to be together as an A) and B ) type thing, but I didn't split it in such a manor. No I look a fool. How will I go on.
thetime
That's 3 things. I'm not sure about Arcade Fire, last year there was a quote about them not playing Glasto as the time wasn't right as they weren't big enough.
jump
I think they could sub headline as there will be a few bands with higher profile wanting to play glasto next year. I imagine radiohead got a good chance and would you have radiohead and arcade fire both headline? I dont think so. Radiohead, a legendry act and maybe a new headliner from a band in the last 10 years. That way keeps everyone happy. Vieuphoria
I want to see Kylie play. 25th Anniversary tour, and still hasn't come back since she had to pull out of her headline slot when she was diagnosed with cancer. The pop she got when she came on stage with the Scissor Sisters was phenomenal. It'd be cheesy as fuck but there are far worse pop stars out there, and she has some good tunes and... easy on the eye
AcademicPistol
Yes but I dont think you would get arcade fire and radiohead headlining the same festival. Bit like you would never get interpol and editors on the same lineup, to similar in my opinion.

jump
Quick there is still time to edit before everyone sees The only majorly shit thing about GaGa is her gimmicks for me and i don't really like her music (but thats just an opinion (but at least she writes it her self apparently). Vieuphoria
Wasn't that in regards to a headline slot though? I was thinking more of a sub slot to someone like The Rolling Stones. She will be huge next year and the booking makes sense in my view.
