Andre91
Oh God Why Speaking about all three acts, Benn toldBBC Radio 1: "Paramore, Florence, The Black Keys - you are seeing future headliners. No question in my view. The act that plays before the headliner will get a similar expectation from the audience."

Dan R
He also said that Paramore turned down offers to headline other UK festivals to play under The Cure. Wonder which festivals he means (if it isn't bull)? Download is the only one that I would say they fit as headliners.
Yellow_Fellow
then this is a country where the majority voted Conservative.
jazz565
I reckon they could, but I seem to be the only one. I think they'd definitely headline; don't think I've seen them accept anything less at festivals since their comeback, and they're bigger now than they were in 2003 when they subbed. Plus they've still got the reunion factor working for them, since (I think) the only UK show they've done was Download last year.
Vacant0
Sadly, that's the current musical climate we're in at the minute. Electro, autotuned, manufactured music that speaks about nothing relevant (unless going to the club and getting laid is considered relevant) reigns supreme over other music types. The likes of Lady Gaga, Jessie J and One Direction are what sells tickets in the UK nowadays. Depressing, like you say, but then this is a country where the majority voted Conservative. It's no wonder that Reading and Leeds, which specialises in guitar music primarily, has failed to sell out and I'm still seeing the yellow poster advertised all over Leeds, with less than a month to go. Contrast that with about four or five years ago when Indie and Rock were in, and it would have long sold out by this point.
Vacant0
Don't know where you grew up but 36.1% of the country is far from the majority!
Vacant0
You're not the only one! I'd love them too headline, without a doubt got enough material too! they are such a good live band too, so so so tight! I'm praying for something like this System Of A Down Biffy Clyro Arctic Monkeys Bloc Party Queens of the Stone Age Jack White
Andre91
I'd say it was for sonisphere, they were after a headliner until late-on according to Neil, and by the sound of they'd already been offered the slot at R&L. Whereas Download had all the headliners announced by December, so I reckon they'll have been sorted before they were approached by R&L. rug568
Could Arctic Monkeys be considered big enough to headline reading on the Sunday? Surely another successful album would push them up. I don't think Green Day are a credible option any more. If they would play Reading, it would have been this year, what with them playing in Paris on the same weekend. mrtourette
That's not bad Hart Attack (in terms of realism, which directly contrasts quality), although I was surprised to see Lostprophets, Brand New and The Pretty Reckless in one of your posters. 2rare2die
If that was the lineup, I think that would justify my decision to make this year my last at Reading - only 3 acts I'd want to see,

MAD HARRY 27
Saturday mainstage looks pretty damn good (I think Vampire Weekend would have to be swapped with White Lies though for sure). Apart from that the only acts that take my fancy would be QOTSA, Green Day and Chase and Status. Dont think I'd attend if this was the case
