On that same basis Soundgarden didn't sub Linkin Park so there is no comparison to make.

Acts play both but when it's on the "heavy" headliner day it's (used to be) called metal sunday not Download day and it was happening long before Download happened. If it was a day full of dinosaur rock and Download regulars you'd have a point but Linkin Park a mainstream alternative band and Soundgarden an act that has a history with Reading means you don't.

I think Libertines probably could sell out Hyde Park, especially with cheap tickets and if it was an exclusive show.

I firmly believe they are one of the main reasons 2010 sold relatively well compared with 2011.
