Here's another poster, tried to be very realistic this time

About Vampire Weekend playing 2nd, i genuinely think it could happen, 1st 2 albums so successful critically and commercially, they toured arenas etc. I also think because of R&L's tendency to give bands a push it could happen, look at some recent subheadliners like 30stm, they are way bigger than them, and R&L let them play 4th after 1 album so clearly they like them. Either way i'm obviously open to criticism but thought i'd pre-empt some of the argument

I think that's the appeal with European festivals, most countries will probably have one or two big festivals and are therefore able to easily book the big touring headliners because they won't be playing anywhere else in that country. Take Optimus alive, tiny festival in comparison to British ones and it had The Cure, Stone Roses and Radiohead headlining!

I think a problem with British festivals is that the market is over crowded and it's hard to book all the biggest bands as they'll be at other festivals, also leads to seeing bands who do festivals in Britain every year.
