I'm not buying the Black Sabbath booking, it wouldn't look right on the poster to me.

I'm pretty sure Dino Jr. won't play R+L for the foreseeable future. They've made comments in a couple of interviews about not being treated right by big festis in the UK, one of which was in early 08 having played Reading 07. As they really don't fit the style anyway, I doubt FR would make the effort to patch things up with them in the way they have with Green Day.

I reckon Vampire Weekend would sub if they played and I think tdcc are too big for fourth, I'd put them third.

Melvin said there was no metal headliner. But that was when only two headliners were booked according to him, and if they're only in talks now, what he said about there being no metal headliner may well have been true at the time.

Didn't Melvin say he was close to booking the 3rd headliner though. If that was true, then Neil's theory of Sabbath being in talks is wrong.

It seems too random to me.

Stone Roses would be a bad booking, they played so many places this summer that the people who wanted to see them did. Also the majority of people going to Reading won't know them as they're too old, and the atmosphere would be a bit flat and the atmosphere was what made this summers appearances they did so good, covered up Ian Browns bad singing

I said Noel as it would be an exclusive, like a few bands have done in the past. He headlines arena's, more than big enough to headline. It was either Noel or Snow Patrol.

Green Day's stadium date is in June. By the time Reading comes to announce in March, it should already be sold out. Also didn't stop the Foo's playing festivals around their stadium shows.

But if Green Days show sells out, then thats 60,000 people who are less likely to pay to see them again. And Foo's didn't play any other shows in the UK this year, their MK shows were last year.

Why wouldn't he take 1 weekend off to do 2 shows and get paid. Don't be silly.

Also, when did he say that he's taking a year off, all I know is that he is writing a new album.

Jack White/Noel Gallagher will not headline, surely. I don't care how big the names are... Jack White is a legend but he'd do well to get sub if i'm going to be honest, the album isn't that great minus a couple of songs and would send me to sleep, much rather see him bring the Raconteurs to Reading
