I've slagged off Dizzee Rascal on this forum before, saying how he isn't really worthy of high mainstage slots etc, but I've just got back from his headline slot at Newcastle's Evolution Festival, and I can openly say its the best show I've ever seen. It even topped the several Arctic Monkeys AND Kings Of Leon shows I've seen

Blown away.

On this years line up the only band i can see reaching headline status is the Vaccines.

I much prefer the new albums, but I consider Kings of Leon at Sheffield, a handful of Arctic Monkeys gigs, Biffy Clyro, White Lies, Muse, Courteeners etc as all great great bands that I've seen and I couldn't believe that DIZZEE RASCAL topped them all.

They sold more albums than I thought they had. Which is surprising. I don't like them at all, so not fussed. But i'd assume they could easily be booked. Not sure where though? 4th or 5th main? NME sub?

They did ...Hard to say, I am going say early main /mid nme if they do festival slots next year. Depends if its just a few shows around this charity thing or not (in that case I think they will do similar small venues to Jon's tour last year.) Sort of big club sized maybe like O2 Islington.

Lies, they are fucking ace and was brilliant at their last gig headlining hop farm! (and I saw Jon at The Garage last year and was that was bloody good!)

But, I think they brought their 2013 dates forward to this year didn't they? If so, I doubt they'll be playing next year. I do think they're a possibility though.

Oh yeah they're still a viable headliner for any year and could quite easily play next year, it just isn't beacuse of any kind of five year rule.

While it is total crap about the 5 year myth I think they could be over again next summer. I heard an interview with Lars complaining that they have to tour more now because they make no money from record sales any more (my heart bleeds for him by the way). Obviously they could do their own shows but I wouldn't rule out R&L.
