Yeah Melvin Benn is a bumbling old fool but Copping seems to get far more personal with bands. Apart from the Big 4 at Soni thing I don't think MB gets involves in public arguments, just the usual 'our line-up is awesome' crap like all promoters. Copping seems to be sniping at bands and taking shots at people all the time.

Not just bands. He's blocked efestivals on twitter and I think he got both Neil and Scottie banned from the Download forum. He got upset with this place for reporting that a band had pulled out of Download...

Seems legit

To be fair, it would mentally destroy you with the clashes, even with just the headliners

Do you think The Black Keys are ready to headline Reading yet?

I wasn't there as I was seeing The Horrors but supposedly their sub slot didn't go down that great; people didn't know enough of the songs and such.

I was right in the heart of the crowd and there was not one song the crowd wasn't singing along too...

Ah OK; it's only what I've heard on here before and I know a couple of people I went with didn't think it was that good. If that's the case then that definitely strengthens the argument for them headlining; although I think it'd be better for them to have a new album under their belt and see how that goes first.

I was also in the heart of the crowd and the atmosphere was dead around me. Lonely Boy and Gold on the Ceiling were the only songs that got a reaction.

If one more person predicts Daft Punk &/or Kanye then the shit is going to hit the fucking fan I swear. THEY WILL NOT PLAY YOU MORONS!!! Get over it & stop "predicting" it. You're not Nostradamus, you're a bunch of bloody cretins!

That is all. :P

Oh & Will, that's a perfect line up, but never in a million month of Sundays would Reading book that.

Well those were strange acts for you to pick as being unrealistic from my lineup.

It wasn't a prediction, just so you know. ;)

people knew but in all honesty even from just behind the 1st barrier, people were just awaiting foo's

I have to agree. The atmosphere wasn't at all like I expected it to be. The performance wasn't great either, which I don't think helped to entice the vast number of people merely waiting for the Foo Fighters.

They are nowhere close to headline IMO. KOL had already got their break at Glasto and then T or V before they sold out, TBK are doing it at sub stage, only one way now I think, could be wrong though.

Why do people say 'I think this is accurate' about next years line up? We have no idea. Even in this year's lineup prediction game most of us fared pretty badly an that was a week before!

Yeah when I say accurate i mean feasible, like it could happen although we generally have no idea

Black Keys were awful at Reading. Couldn't even play Gold On The Ceiling properly. Dreadful.

IMO they're a headline band check out their set at Lowlands, looked pretty amazing, also they have the commercial appeal/radio airplay to headline, more than QOTSA or Jack White.
