Lineup 2014

Muse aren't cool anymore.

Agreed with this. The Resistance had some decent stuff. The 2nd Law just did them in. It's not for them, doesn't showcase the talent they have at all IMO.

However much you hate Coldplay, it's difficult to deny they're an excellent live act. The hate FR would get for booking them would be astronomical though, so I doubt it'd happen. They'll probably play V next year or something.

They are quite comfortably one of the best live bands in the world. I've seen them a few times and seen god knows who else too.

Coldplay can fuck off. Fucking c**ts. Their fans are c**ts too, because they think that they're the best band in the world, while it's pwetty clear that they're NOT.

I'm a fan, I don't think they are the best band in the world but I also couldn't narrow down to what I think is right now.

I'm of the same opinon, i have about 8 or 9 of their songs on my ipod but i never really listen to them. I thought Mylo Xyloto was a piece of shit and completely carried by 'Paradise', and that they were a bit overdone on big TV events (children in need, award shows etc)

However there is no denying that they put on a fantastic live show. I saw them at Glastonbury and 2 weeks later at Oxegen, atmosphere was absolutely incredible.

FR would never live it down if they booked them. The ironic thing is that they would still sell shit loads of albums!

See, I thought Mylo Xyloto was great and while it may have been carried a lot by it. I also think Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall and hurts like heaven hold their own too.

Glastonbury was something needed to be seen to be believed, it was one of the biggest cases I've seen to show that a on screen show viewed compared to the actual thing can be far different. On tv, it looked amazing to see the whole pyramid lit up in yellow for Yellow was superb. Headline show of the year says it all really. I also saw them in Coventry on their tour, while the support wasn't upto much, they smashed it.

As it says at the top, would next year not kinda mean this years fest? It also says about R&L don't invite back two years in a row but we played last year so probably will this year. They also state about how FOB are a big influence to them.

That sounds a decent hint to play under FOB Sunday or subbing NME after they lay main myself.

The article is written in 2013 so next year is 2014, they said they played last year 2012 and say they would like to play next year 2014. They talk about FOB as they were asked about them.

I read it as they don't usually get bands to play two years in a row but this time, we probably will do yeah, you're probably right to be fair

Blur
The Black Keys
Two Door Cinema Club
The Gaslight Anthem
Arctic Monkeys
Jack White
Yeah Yeah Yeahs
Jake Bugg
Rage Against The Machine
N.W.A.
Avenged Sevenfold
All Time Low

Blur I agree with. Provided Jack is back with a new album, I can see headline myself - wether at R&L or not that is up for debate but sub would be decent.

Two Door I see in that slot, Gaslight nope, provided they play this year. Jake Bugg maybe although V Fest will probably go for him cause he'll probably just be the next pop singer by then.

All Time Low, yup.

A7X, Download

You realise Gaslight Anthem are third down at Download, and played R+L last year?

AKA the worst lineup in history.

Probably will be in all honestly, that's who I see playing at the moment, if Alt-J get that push up to headlining so soon, then Palma Violets probably will, Arctics and QOTSA would be weak headliners atm, but if their new albums boom then they'll be strong. Paramore can headline and then fuck off forever.

I can't think of anyone else who'd headline NME that hasn't already.

Two Door will probably be subbing, and if any of those bands aren't headlining, it will be The fucking Vaccines

I can see me going to Download in 2014 already

To be fair I'd be happy with Arctic Monkeys and QOTSA so I wouldn't mind, but it wouldn't be those 3 headliners. You'd need a Metallica or a Blur in there.

At the moment I think it'll be The Prodigy, Mumford & Sons, Metallica.

I dunno about the Prodigy. They're far more likely to take a lower slot and then play everywhere rather than headline on an exclusive.

The Prodigy

Chase and Status

Enter Shikari

Palma Violets

Mumford & Sons

The Vaccines

Two Door Cinema Club

White Lies

Metallica

Queens of the Stone Age

You Me At Six

The Gaslight Anthem

Metronomy

Something like this, plus a couple of surprises (instead of Chase & Status and White Lies in those positions).

Also I think the breakthrough act headlining the NME will be someone other than Palma Violets. Like last year the NME were bumming Spector, Tribes and Howler like they are Palma Violets, Swim Deep and Peace this year, yet the main breakthrough acts were Alt-J and Jake Bugg, who were basically unheard of until being announced for R&L. What I'm trying to say in this horribly worded paragraph is that an act will come from nowhere to headline next year's NME tent. :P

Cor, that would be absolutely horrible.

Blur

Vampire Weekend

Arctics

Jack White

Queens Of The Stone Age

The Prodigy

would be nice.

Monkeys cause it will be off a new album, huge vand anyway. Paramore cause well its going to happen sooner or later and a new album is out soon. Qotsa new album, not played for a bit, or blur for obvious reasons. There just my hunches, dunno who would sub. I think that would sell well to the general public.
