Working your way up and having good sales doesn't automatically mean you deserve to headline; you also need to be decent to deserve it (obviously that's subjective, but whether they're deserving or not is subjective in itself), which they aren't at all, and they've been shit by all accounts the last two times they've played, whilst having a poor live reputation in general. So no, they don't deserve to headline.

yet three of the top 6 in 2010 are playing in 2014? So... why does it matter if it's too much like 2010.

There's a difference in 3 major acts playing in the same places and merely playing the festival. Every year should feel different yet still feel like Reading and Leeds. Having two major acts play in the same position they did just a few years ago is pretty dull and may even put people off.

Queens are playing essentially next door on the same weekend. Paramore haven't announced any EU dates and have a US tour finished just before the festival. If we only get one of them Queens are far far more likely.

Anything bit pointless because we're going to end up with both.

I'm pretty sure Paramore would fly out to Reading and Leeds with a moments notice if they were given the chance at their first major festival headline show in the UK. Therefore they're just as likely imo.

This. It's far too 'safe'. Good in terms of a booking stance to have both bands play but horrible they're making them do it.

If Blink 182 can headline twice in four years Paramore can definitely get away with being bumped up.
