Headlining two festivals in the England, both with fairly big capacities? Yeah I'd say so, even FR can't be so stupid to book them after loads of people will have already seen them.

It's a fairly common opinion that Reflektor's a poor effort for Arcade Fire.

I don't think it's a bad album though, the second half is beautiful.

I'm not so sure it's a 'common opinion' tbh. Matt just came across as a bit overly one sided which I was surprised at seeing as he's doing a journalism degree. I would have thought he would have acknowledged there were at least some good songs, which there most definitely is.

It's only music though, no need for arguments over differing opinions I suppose. I'm looking forward to what older material they drop into their upcoming US arena tour seeing as these are the first real shows of the Reflektor tour (apparently the recent Aus/NZ shows were just a warm up festival tour)

If they play in the future, they'll headline. I don't think they want to sub anymore. They know they can get booked as headliners so why take sub as an option?

As a journalist I would have expected you to be able to see it's positive notes as well as it's negatives.

As a journalist I definitely can see the positives and negatives, its the foundation of pretty much all the research I do. However, as a journalist, I am selective of the information I use to support what I'm writing. Obviously that's clearly the case when it comes to opinion pieces- nobody ever writes a middle of the road opinion piece because it would be a bloody boring read

For the record I don't think its a BAD album, there are some great songs on there, its just my over-riding opinion is that its not up to Arcade Fire standard, so that's the point I make whenever I talk about it.

If you want, I'll rephrase that to "It's a fairly common opinion amongst people who I have found to have respectable tastes, including many Arcade Fire fans, who, seeing as we're comparing it to other Arcade Fire albums, will not be influenced by bias, that Reflektor isn't up to typical Arcade Fire standard, so I don't see why you are so against Matt's opinion on this matter."

Everyone* has faults in their taste. Hell there are people who listen to Nick Cave and don't fall madly in love with him. I assume this is an aberration on everyone's part.
