I know The 1975 aren't liked on here, but they have 'big news' to announce on Monday - assuming it's a tour, do you guys reckon they'll play arenas? I think they're one of the few 'indie pop landfill' bands who could play arenas really well, but I don't know if they're big enough

hmm, Idk Gweb. I'd say it's possibly a new album? Then they'll probably move up to places like Ally pall/Wembley Arena?

EDIT: Also, there's a big live announcement coming tonight according to Ticketmaster on twitter. Have no idea what it is but they gave a clue of a guitar so perhaps it'll be an act we all like as opposed to a pop act?

Just a stab in the dark but Foo Fighters.......

I can't imagine it'll be an album, they've been touring relentlessly since the last album so I can't see when they'd have recorded it

Foos?

Could be, could be. Interested to see who it is now!

A lot of indie acts tend to jump Wembley all together and just go fuck it let's play the o2, at least recently.

Hmm, I'm not so sure that's true. Wembley's what 12,000ish capacity while the O2 is around 21,000. You wouldn't just jump Wembley if you didn't think you could sell the tickets necessary. I do think bands are preferring to play two dates at Ally Pally/Brixton/Hammersmith Apollo instead of doing Wembley though as that arena is not the nicest of venues.

Just an idea. I'm not sure they'd do arenas now that the album tour has been milked so hard.

is there still a Hyde Park slot free? Mcbusted are doing it after all, could be a tour in like Asia or somewhere though

Probably that they're supporting Kasabian

Nah I doubt they're big enough for an arena tour. Perhaps Wembley or something, as suggested.

Who was it that predicted they may sub next year?

I hope V nab them because it's seemingly more likely every show they do...

:ninja:

The Foo Fighters supported by 1975 scenes.

Oh damn.

Just looked at Hyde Park capacity and realised what an awful suggestion this was

Was gonna say

Sold shitloads of tickets haven't they? Didn't they do like 4 nights at the Hydro or something crazy? I saw it on a billboard when I was in Glasgow for QOTSA or my uni interview, and was gobsmacked.

Yeah, isn't their arena tour something stupid like 40 dates and the majority are in fact sold out? I'm surprised there was that much demand for the whole thing tbh.

indeed, I don't actually know anyone who's been to see them either

I took my sister to see McFly last year at the RAH so saw a couple of songs with them being McBusted and I must say it was a bit meh. Couldn't have cared less about the whole gimmick tbh.
