mattgimmeshelter
Just had a thought. Say Arctics play for 1hr 45 mins and Blink play for about the same time. Co-headliners get around 90 mins each... will this be a year where the subs get abit of darkness too? Vampire weekend will probably be playing as the suns going down. If so, quite cool that the subs will be getting abit of darkness.
dentalplan
Wasn't it dark by the end of NIN and Chase + Status last year? It'll be about same as that anyway.

Chase and Status / NIN were dark by the end of the set. What I was wondering is instead of it gradually getting dark during the sub, are we going to get darkness just after the 3rd down act finishes? Or is that too optimistic?

It'll go dark at roughly the same time as last year, so no it won't happen I'm afraid.

the wonderwhy
Vendetta's, Tabloids and Crybabycry also are all playing BBC Intro. All Us On Drugs, too. All of them winners of the futuresound competition by the looks of things EDIT: Band called Carnabells won it and are opening FR apparently Edited July 25, 2014 by MattDavies__

rawaudioinput
It's strange that despite V seemingly having little interest in hype bands/new music their competition winners always do so much better Whilst they tip Bombay Bicycle Club we get Post War Glamour Girls

dentalplan
What? That was when V was a completely different festival. It's like saying "it's strange that despite Chelsea seemingly having little interest in their youth academy they managed to promote Graeme LeSaux". Besides, that was a nationwide televised competition rather than whatever R+L do.
rawaudioinput
Crosses are no longer playing apparently Brilliant news, one of the only acts I was annoyed about missing; where did you hear that? It's like saying "it's strange that despite Chelsea seemingly having little interest in their youth academy they managed to promote Graeme LeSaux". I have no idea what that sentence means Fair point though, although they did have Bastille playing in 2011 and if I remember correctly have had other acts who have got really big playing on the Strongbow tent Edited July 25, 2014 by rawaudioinput

rawaudioinput
I saw someone on their Facebook page complaining about cancelling Rock n Heim, so I assume they've just cancelled their European tour Edited July 25, 2014 by rawaudioinput

FR stage is usually pretty good at picking out some up and coming acts but they're kind of already on the way by that stage so you're probably right. Gucci Piggy
But didn't biffy get a longer set? So did Greenday right? Biffy got 1:30 or 1:45, didn't they?
mattgimmeshelter
Biffy got 1:30 or 1:45, didn't they? No idea, but I thought they got much longer at R&L than they did at T this year.
mattgimmeshelter
I can't be to blame for such inspired topics as "will it be dark when X band is on" It's a forum? Plus that's an appropriate question, as the set times are coming very soon. Sometimes you just sit and try to poke holes in everyones posts it's really fucking annoying. dentalplan
Well how would NIN and C+S both finish in the dark if Biffy did have a longer set? It gets dark at about 9pm at that time of year and the curfew is 11 at Leeds and 11:30 at Reading so, heartbreakingly, it'll never be the case that subs are in the complete dark unless something changes with set times or sunset times. It's a shame it can't be more like Coachella and Werchter as they both have subs in the dark.
TenInchToenaiIs
They should solve this problem by holding it in December.
