Quite a few less names on the introducing stage this year then last... Do we thing that there could be another announcement or secret sets or somthing?? Or has the BBC just faced cut backs

I'm not sure they've announced the Leeds Fri/Reading Sun Introducing headliner as I could only see mention of two they touted as headliners on the article on the Introducing website so perhaps there'll be more soon :-)

Prides are definitely headlining, as dental said they're possibly too big for the Intro stage really.

They haven't included the names of any competition winners yet so I'd guess that will be in the 'full' announcement R&L were on about today.

On the BBC music site it suggests that Moko, Rae Morris and Prides are the headliners?? but compared to last year there is 7 less names on the line up... so an announcement of more alternatives (also less) and intro acts would seem likely

I didn't use to care but it was the stage I had most fun of last year - coupled with Main Stage I guess cause of Biffy and SOAD. Really enjoyed just listening to new music and nearly all the acts I saw there really went all out to impress the crowd. I'll probably spend a fair amount of time there this year.

Don't visit it last year as there wasn't an act that I really wanted to see (it was also my first festival so I didn't want to go to see a smaller band when I could see a bigger one that I liked) but this year I'm not that particularly fussed.

But I still have this thing were I'd go and see a bigger band as I more likely to catch the band on the Introducing on a tour again (particularly if they are going to visit Sheffield) than someone on main (unless they announce a tour after R&L and it is in the programme :P )

I get what you mean - I did that at my first festival too but ever since I've gone out of my way to check out new, younger bands as tbh, there's only one act on the lineup that I like that I haven't seen yet (Queens) so I always love checking out new bands and discovering different sounds.

I was a fan of the Ruen Brothers before last years festival, saw them on the Introducing stage, thought they were ace so saw them again in October and had a blast - absolutely no regrets there, so I'd say you should just go for it if you even have the smallest inclining to check out someone there :)

I saw Thumpers, Jaws, Mausi, Catfish and the Bottlemen and Dog is dead on the BBC introducing stage... bands I really like and its cool to see in such an intimate stage like the introducing....

Also cool for "secret" introducing sets at Reading festival if thats what you like as they always seem to be Reading and not Leeds.
