Lineup 2014

Kanye is a bigger c**t then Jared Leto.

YMAS will have more then likely been approached and just not hinted at it for obvious reasons. I don't know what yellow means by assuring us they haven't been approached but if I've learnt anything it's to take whatever he says with the lightest grain of reliability. And that's not a dig, it's just the truth.

It's your opinion, not the truth.

And go take basic reading comprehension if you struggle so much with reading basic sentence structures.

Rule Biffy Clyro out?

No don't be silly they're easily in with a chance of headlining again next year

No not biffy (of course not...), the other bands!!

Because I think I saw lots of people on this thread predicting Rudimental or The 1975 as NME headliners

the optimist in me assures you, they've not been approached

Someone on eFests said that they spoke to the main guy's dad in the pub (yeah a pub story) and apparently they were offered 3rd this year but turned it down to play next year instead. No reason to believe that but it's a strange thing to make up, and they're always at R+L anyway.

my statement was just me saying I don't want them to be there :P

Hey, I don't want them either.

This always happens to me, the worst i saw was at Of Monsters And Men when almost everyone in he crowd was like this... disgusting.

However tbf im really bad at learning lyrics so most of the time when i sing along (even with bands i love) I get it wrong and everyone around me always thinks im not a real fan/ like the people you have described :(

Ha I watched OMAM to get a decent spot for Editors in the summer and played along with the clapping and stuff so I didn't feel like a prick ruining peoples' view but you're right, everyone was there for one song and spent the rest of the time trying to be on the TV cameras.

I'm not really bothered about people not knowing the lyrics or not looking like a real fan. It's mainly when I make sure to get down the front and then people who are stood directly in front of me or next to me not really being into it for most of the show and can't even muster singing along to the chorus, or a foot tap, or a head nod. Doesn't affect me that much though, it's just no. 1 on my annoying things about gigs, just because it always seems to happen.

Yellow does appear to have 'inside information', either through blogging about music or through his Dad, but it's always flaky information that can never be proven wrong and can easily be manipulated later on to show it as being accurate. Even of they do end up playing he can always say "all I know is that they hadn't been approached when I said they hadn't been approached", which still may or may not be true. If they don't end up playing when so many expect them to then fair play, that's the first bit of info that's been shown to be trustworthy and he deserves a bit more respect going forward (until the next load of wishy-washy claptrap :P).

Hell, so do I.

Yeah, it was only the broken rib scandal that was obviously bullshit to be fair. But I do reckon YMAS would have been approached (cause unless reading had some seriously cool bands like Weezer booked then why wouldn't they!? One of the most popular teen market rock bands around and would suit 3rd perfectly) but as you said it was only your opinion so wicked.

Maybe I just read too many things as presented as fact, and what appears bullshit presented as fact grates on me. But then I dismissed luckys info on that ground and it bit me right back in the arse.

I've been here a few years and never known so many claim they have sources, then when they get found out to be telling porkies they stay quiet....Matt42 anyone.

Disclaimer not meaning you yellow, yours are just funny.

I'm a sarcastic c**t and even I fail to pick up on Yellow's dryness sometimes. Anyone who remembers the 'Foos were booked to headline the main in '95 but requested to change stages nearer the time' guff should know what he's capable of though.

I don't remember that but I do remember the Lostprophets were booked above NIN but they wanted the sunset spot so switched (even tho the sub spot is the sunset spot) as proved by the Lostprophets drummer joining NIN bollocks.

That...one is actually slightly true though. They weren't booked for it but closer to the fest when foos popularity and buzz stormed up they were asked to "play" #not necessarily headline# the main stage, but Dave said no. Source is dave himself somewhere, it might be the foos doc or just a random YouTube interview.

But the broken ribs thing was just plain old silly.

I'm well aware of the story, which is why what was said isn't 'slightly true' but in fact isn't true at all.
