1. Dental plan that's why I said SUPRISE ANNOUNCEMENT... thing with a surprise is, you don't know its coming...

2. The download announcement that happened the other day replaced the 12 days of Christmas thing they were going to do.

3. Jimmy Eat World look likely. They're playing in Europe at back end of august.

But we know it's not coming...

I just read the comment that Sigur Ros would bore Oasis fans, but I genuinely feel they're one of them bands that when you see them live, they'd stun absolutely everyone. They could probably successfully headline Download. They have an aura about them which is lacking with most.

That depends how you define success. If you mean they'd sell fewer tickets than any other previous headliner and piss off a large number of their loyal customers, then yes they'd be a roaring success.

No, this is silly. They're a completely different musical experience to the people jumping and singing along to Oasis. They're interesting and often quite good but I don't think they're such an absolutely compelling act that they transcend genre preferences and stun fields into complete silence and amaze everyone and leave people in tears and what not.

Okay, I'd doubt their ability to reduce people to tears. I don't doubt their ability to make people think "haud on... wtf is this?!" however. There's a select few bands who I reckon could turn pretty much any head. Okay, headline Download is a bit much, but on the undercard of such a bill, they'd make people pay attention. Probably overstated that point just a touch.

I'm afraid you are totally wrong, I adore sigur ros but all you would hear during sigur ros set would be 'Liam, Liam, Liam'.

Is there anyone who could?

Are people seriously debating whether sigur ros could headline download? Was clearly meant as tongue in cheek to show good they are at winning audiences over, which i can agree with. Went to see them out of curiosity at Bestival and ended up loving every minute.

Doubt they could ever play R+L as they could only really headline the NME. Which is either headlined by someone to keep the kids busy while a 'traditional' R+L band headlines, or for an older act whilst a group popular with the whippersnappers takes to the stage. Sigur Ros are neither really
