To keep offenders from doing any harm to anyone else no matter the crime, whether it be physical hurt or guarding peoples possessions from theft, rehabilitation is a by product of this for most I suppose but not the primary reason in my eyes

i really dont understand how he can get this. but other serial paedophiles can still get a 1/3 off for early plea then a half off for good behavior when they only start with a 6/7 year sentence... urgh the law makes no sense...

As far as I'm aware anyone who pleads guilty at the first opportunity can get a 1/3 reduction on their tariff, so there's that for starters. Also it depends if the tariffs are concurrent or consecutive.

Well it's pretty obvious they kept facts away from the cops until his arrest, you would need to be pretty deluded if you don't think so.

The cops didn't seem much use before his initial arrest from what I read earlier

What I don't understand is the band have said they knew nothing, although this ex-gf and others made it known to the band.

In the end of the day they could of stopped some of the abuse, they chose not to for various reasons.
