Andy0808 v3.0
On the topics of Muse and plagiarism. Woah. Never even noticed that one before.
kaosmark2
Haha, I also agree with both those descriptions of them. Just depressing that I never got to see them back when they were interesting and not an OTT stadium rock band reeling out the same setlist night after night. Frankly Mr Shankly
To be fair, i wasn't keen on them until i listened to some of their less popular stuff, and worked my way through it until the more popular stuff 'made more sense' (not sure that's the right way of putting it) but now they're up there with my favorites Please, Please, Please Let Me Get What I Want is by far & way the best Smiths song. It doesn't have a hard hitting or catchy chorus, it doesn't have the most complex or compelling Morrissey lyrics ever or even the best of Marr's guitar work, but something about that song is just perfection. At least to my ears anyway. I marked the fuck out when Morrissey burst into it at the MEN last year. But yeah, the Smiths B-sides & less popular stuff is often their best. Although I love pretty much everything they've ever done. FAN BOY ALERT! Edited May 8, 2013 by Frankly Mr Shankly

I haven't heard any of their other b-sides because I only actually like one album and the odd other song.
Frankly Mr Shankly
Oh I have Please, Please, Please...! (The Muse version ) One of the worst covers in the history of music. Avril Lavigne's cover of Chop Suey was better, that's how shit that was.

Mouseboy11
While we're talking about people stealing from other works. Is it me or is this opening just the riff from I Got Mine?http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v5FW8Xo8ENo
Matt42
Swear to god 30 seconds to mars are the most self obsessed band ever! They seriously love themselves and they think they have been sent by god and all that! It gets on my nerves! Their songs are seriously lazy and Un original, so many of their songs sound the same because they have the same formula. Jared's boring voice that's trying to be sexy followed by a massive "ooooooooooh"

Asdaprice
Blur- Song 2 & The Hives- Hate To Say I Told You So sound suspiciously similar. Not anywhere near enough to be determined plagiarism. As riffs they are completely different, just have a similar strumming pattern and distorted guitar
the wonderwhy
Didn't say it was plagiarism. Anyway, music is all about being inspired by others & developing others ideas, so plagiarism is a non-issue IMO.

However when i played it a couple of weeks ago, my friend goes "oh, this is that song from the john Lewis advert last year, i prefer the one from the advert though...". I weeped a little. VinylDelusion
While we're on this subject, I'm trying to pin point where I've heard that opening riff in Palma Violets - Step Up For The Cool Cats, anyone? 0:11 - 0:26 ish That song's just a massive ripoff of Wetsuit by The Vaccines. Com Truise
That song's just a massive ripoff of Wetsuit by The Vaccines. Yeah the whole of the album is very Vaccines-esque, still that riff, it's more prominent at 1:18 and it's killing me

Those guys are so punk. not that anyone would notice because One Direction fans don't know who The Clash are and people who do don't listen to One Direction
