There's loads of American ones. Depends where you're going though as it's obviously much bigger and you could be thousands of miles away from the better known ones.

Being more favourable towards someone who's playing where you're going is common, but not the other part, surely?

It'd be like me suddenly showing distaste for, say, Pearl Jam, because they got announced for Download. Not because they're playing Download over R&L, just purely the fact they are playing a certain festival.

There's lots of bands that noone expresses dislike for though, as when talked about it tends to be hipster circlejerks. NMH for instance, I'm sure there's plenty of people here who don't care for them, but they're never going to win when we get excited.

Never ever liked Blur... I tried so hard (someone off here reccomended there latest album to try and get into them but i still didnt like it )

Edit: I don't dislike The Libertines, but I only think they're alright. Babyshambles are shite though and Doherty's solo stuff doesn't sound much cop from what I've heard.
