Think you're headliners are spot on - but variations I could see are QOTSA headlining IF the new album gets a great response, and I still don't know why people seem to have ruled out Mumfords.....Reading has a history of getting an exclusive headliner the year after they have headlined everywhere else.

I think Rise Against could be 4th and JEW 3rd.....just by the slightly higher spots then expected this year.

Janes Addiction wont be back in my opinion

I still don't think VW will sub....dunno why, maybe if they have a grande new album out. Also, I really do see the Vaccines playing next year and they can only really sub now, so I'd have

Arctics

Vaccines

Vampire Weekend

and chuck out the National (maybe NME headline instead of Janes)

You've answered your own question :P

Just listened to the new Vampire Weekend album. I think it's really good. Don't see why they'd play next year, though, 15 months after the album release, when they could have been booked for this year.

They're not exactly doing much in the UK this year (just Glasto & the two Mumford things next year), so I imagine they'll be back touring again next summer.

The Prodigy won't be festival exclusives next year with a new album. Reading and Leeds won't want to share a headliner.

Well it hasn't stopped them before has it? Surely if they got Arctics or whatever on some form of exclusive they could book The Prodigy also, as a very popular headliner?

I imagine The Prodigy will want to promote their album through festivals though, whereas Biffy did their arena tour, which helped R&L get them on a exclusive.

Essentially, The Prodigy will want to whore themselves out, whilst Biffy took all the bumming earlier this year & are looking to settle down... :ninja:

Maybe, I'm not too fussed about The Prodigy though, I'd see them if they played and there wasn't a decent alternative like Frank Ocean, Jamie T or Rise Against, but I don't actively want them to play. The only people I'd go all out and say I want to see headline are Bowie and Kanye, so I'll just go back and sit in my dream bubble :(

And I assure you Biffy are up for 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, constant bumming :P

I feel the same about The Prodigy.

Acts I actively want to headline next year would be Depeche Mode, Black Sabbath, Pearl Jam, Tool, Daft Punk, Arctic Monkeys, Arcade Fire, Jack White, Metallica.

Maybe a couple of others I've forgotten, but those are the ones I'd like who are likely to be playing shows next year.

I've never gotten round to listening to Arcade Fire, really ought to do something about that.

Depeche Mode, Sabbath, Pearl Jam or Daft Punk would be great. Jack White so-so, never been a big fan of The White Stripes, and haven't given his solo stuff much of a listen. Never listened to Tool either.

Don't know how to feel about Arctics yet, if I don't like their new album then I'll probably stop listening to them entirely, if it's great then I'll really want to them to headline, as long as they aren't piss poor at Glasto.

Looking at this year, we won't end up with any of those bands :P

Jack White headlining would be yet another step backwards.

He is nowhere near big enough as a solo artist, unless there was some way the Raconteurs come out and done some songs, then the dead weather and even then i think it's a push to have him headline.

edit: purposely didn't mention White Stripes as they wouldn't play together

How would it be a step backwards? It would widen the pool of headliners, rather than the constantly rotating group there seems to be.

Well yes it has stopped them before. They could have easily headlined last time they had a popular new album in 2009 but didn't because they were at Glasto, IOW and Rock Ness.

They had Arctics that year too.

If they were gonna do an exclusive headline slot, it would have been this year instead of Creamfields surely.
