So, 'lineups' of festivals in 2014. Highlighted red are confirmed acts, highlighted blue are rumours/strong rumours/possibilities.

R/L: Blink 182, Queens/Paramore, Arctic Monkeys

Download: Avenged Sevenfold, Linkin Park, Aerosmith

T In The Park: Biffy Clyro, Eminem, Arctic Monkeys & ???

IOW: Biffy Clyro/Calvin Harris, Kings Of Leon, The Prodigy

Glastonbury: Arcade Fire, Kasabian, Prince

Sonisphere: The Prodigy, Metallica, Iron Maiden

Piecing everything together we have quite a summer, and say all those rumours are the actual bookings there's a fair few big acts around this coming summer. Lots of repeats though... guess that's standard.

Prince isn't likely at all for Glastonbury.

Neil has a source he's doing it.

And this came to light today

http://www.nme.com/news/prince/74708

Emily has said in interviews that Prince has changed his mind about glastonbury, and he finally wants to do it. I put it in blue remembe, so that's not me putting 2 and 2 together and getting 5.

Come on though, that source said Led Zeppelin too. Prince is always rumoured to be touring Europe, and it's the Daily Mirror that's reported it...

Dunno about those IOW headliners - there's no real rumours for either, just your predictions.

What is counted as a step up from headlining the NME stage?? I realise headling and Subbing the main are... but is playing 3rd or 4th a step down or a step up.... and the same for 5th on main??

It's not entirely accurate but usually bands headlining the NME would slot in around third on the main. I think we discussed this a few pages back, but that isn't some form of rule, given you have acts like Alt-J headlining nowadays. Personally I'd say that 4th and 5th mainstage would be a step down

If we look at last years 3rds, all of Deftones, Foals and FOB would have been strong NME headliners. As for 4ths, Frank, White Lies and The Lumineers would have been questionable (maybe not Frank but the other two definitely), however I think BMTH, Brand New & Editors would have been strong.

Just shows that, as Yellow said, it's entirely contextual.

(I know that only looking at last years isn't a fair representation but I can't be arsed looking at loads of lineups :P)

The source that said Led Zeppelin were headlining and that Radiohead were their back up? No chance in hell.

Love the NBA... who do you support :)

The Heat! I remember seeing Shaq play for them when I was about 11 and I've followed them ever since :) what about you?

Also, what a game that was Friday night against the Warriors (despite the loss), they're on a real roll lately. Stephen Curry is playing out of his skin.

I'll join the party...

Gigs:

City and Colour, Anna Calvi, The Twang, Deaf Havana, Neutral Milk Hotel...probably Of Montreal as well but I haven't booked that yet due to there being noone to go with, yet they are worth going on my own for the first time..

Festivals: None so far - not really spoilt for choice with the announcements yet...
