Andy0808 v3.0
Although IMO Kanye West would be the best headline act Reading would have secured in a while.. 1) He will never play the festival. 2) If he plays any festivals in the UK next year it'll be Wireless, V, or Glastonbury 3) His 10 minute on stage rants would not go down well at all at RnL

Com Truise
Kanye last played Wireless a year after Jay Z played, he might be back next year with his new album, if they got Kanye and Cudi again I'd have to get a ticket

Frankly Mr Shankly
I called Daft Punk & Kanye for Wireless a while back. Wireless seem to be going for headliners that have worked together recently (Drake/Rihanna 2012, Justin/Jay-Z 2013) so I wouldn't be surprised to see those two next year. Gucci Piggy
Kanye West will not headline R&L. I wish people would stop seriously suggesting it. I also don't understand the logic of people saying Prodigy won't headline because they'll want to whore themselves out due to the new album... Then suggesting Arctic Monkeys who are just as likely to want to whore themselves out because of their new album. Because The Prodigy will be able to whore themselves out as subs/second stage headliners a lot more than Arctic Monkeys will be able to as headliners... Then suggesting Arctic Monkeys who are just as likely to want to whore themselves out because of their new album. logic is Prodigy are subs (most fests) and so can whore themselves without needing to be exclusive. Arctics are always gonna be headliners, and a fest will most likely want them on a exclusive. They could still do Reading, Big Weekend, and T. Prodigy could do Glasto, IOW, Reading, T, Big Weekend etc \edit - didnt see the other explanations Edited May 10, 2013 by Asdaprice
Asdaprice
Although Kanye could technically play Reading, he is much more suited to other fests (so is Eminem but he's played them all recently) and I dont think Readings gonna get into a habit of rap pop headliners. Matt42
Wireless always pull big names, because they've got shit tonnes of money to chuck at people.

Prodigy could easily chose to do an early arena tour to coincide with the album's release, then Radio 1 Big Weekend, T in the Park & R&L... that's a lot of ground covered & they'd still be an English/Wales festival exclusive. People just don't like the truth. They'd rather convince themselves that Kanye West is going to headline. HAH! The Prodigy have stepped up by headlining Download & selling out the MK Bowl, why would they step back down again unless the new album flops? This is essentially what I was going to say, although the radio 1 big weekend location changes yearly so it may end up in England. Nevertheless I completely agree with what you're saying, an arena tour plus maybe T in the park and then R+L is plenty.

Gucci Piggy
I doubt he was counting R1 Big Weekend as a festival, seeing as organisers don't seem to. Edit: Too late. Edited May 10, 2013 by Will-2609

Gucci Piggy
So do I, along with Daft punk, but what Frankly said about them both doing Wireless would make a lot of sense.
dentalplan
Can The Prodigy get much bigger than in 09 and 10 though? Where they had a massive album then chose to do two tours, MK bowl and around 10 festivals. Also with them doing two consecutive years of exclusives, would they just do English and Scottish exclusives next year. I realise its not impossible that they'd choose to just do a couple but its the track record that makes it unlikely. Especially when a UK exclusive would have been possible this year. My money is for my on them subbing Metallica next year. Edited May 10, 2013 by dentalplan
Frankly Mr Shankly
Metallica following the Prodigy at R&L would bomb harder than when the Arctic Monkeys followed them in 09. Can't see the organisers going in for that.
Asdaprice
Yeah, don't take download headlining as a they must headline reading. They, like Qotsa, are in that gap where they could depending on the organisers opinion be headliners or subs. If they have strong subs like this year, Qotsa and prodigy will fit that bracket. All depends on if they get arctics Metallica and whoever else, hopefully a gem like pearl jam
Com Truise
Can't see them going for Metallica, Pearl Jam, Prodigy and QOTSA might as well BE Download if that was the case
