Fuck this shit, I'm (almost certainly) not going

I'd planned to go. The headliners were strong, there were awesome bands like ATDI and Justice certain to play somewhere, there was going to be enough. Even if there wasn't, there'd be enough otherwise to convince me to get a day ticket for The Cure, just a half-decent sub and maybe one other band, or even just 3 I don't know much about but would want to check out.

But....

This pile of shit came out. There is barely anything I want to see across the lineup, the undercard is filled with what I can only describe with pejoratives. I went to Bestival, on my own, last year on the strength of The Cure and faith in the rest alone, and was justified. I'm a bigger fan of The Cure now than I was a year ago, yet I still can't bring myself to spunk money on a ticket.

I'm not sure whether I want a good FR stage or not. If it's good, then they'll probably be enough for me to try for a cheap ticket on ebay, but I hate the idea of going to this, even if I can find enough bands to make it worthwhile. It is filled with utter w*nk. I had more friends than I've had since '07 up for going beforehand, but it's that awful that noone I know is.

Anyone else changed their mind altogether after seeing this?

I was looking forward to line up but was disapointed. The main problem is the Friday is piss poor, ends with The Cure which I'd be happy with but apart from Cancer Bats and Coheed & Cambria (even then I'm not really a fan) most the day doesn't do anything for me. As long as Tenacious D are added to the Sat the rest of the fest looks ok but still not what I was hoping for. This was meant to be the 1st fest me and my bint go to but now I'm gonna check up on Bestival & Download before deciding.

Was never planning to buy a weekend ticket - but was considering working it as a CAT or at least going for The Cure day. Can't justify either now. First time in 8 years I've ever agreed with the 'the lineup is shit' ranting.

think this shows how essential glasto is to other british festivals getting a good lineup as thats both t in the park and R+L who i though would take advantage of no glasto but it looks like its done the opposite and no oxygen on for T is big blow. just my theory

Bought myself a ticket (like an absolute mug) due to being dragged along by mates who are just kidding themselves with this lineup. Headliners and black keys apart there is absolutely no one i'm excited to go see during the day. Am I meant to piss about at the campsite till around 6? Absolute joke.

They were meant to step up to the plate because of glasto absense and have just let me down.

Gonna aim for a Friday ticket because in fairness that day is good. The other two days, however, are on a level with 2007 for weakness. I made a lengthy post in the sprawling 2012 Lineup thread earlier explaining why I think that the line-up is, to put it bluntly, fucking shit, but in case you can't find it due to it no doubt being lost in the many pages that topic possesses, the general gist is that there's too many repeat bookings from last year's NME, too little surprise acts that get announced out of nowhere, too few bands who were well established when I first started going to Leeds in 2005, high placings to bands like Bombay Bicycle Club and The Vaccines which is a testament to how weak the line-up is.

If enough mates are up for it I'll go for the weekend as it's always a laugh, I went in 2009 when the line-up was poor (but not this bad) and I had a great time. If there aren't many people wanting to go, however, then just Foos and Gaslight will do me fine.

Been for the last 9 years and I said I wouldnt be going after last year and this confirmed it, If it was an amazing line up I would have probably ended up buying a ticket but the entire line up is just ...............MEH

Im yet to actually see a line up worth forking out the ridiculous amount of money the companies are charging for, Bestival looks good but 200 fucking quid!!! same with some of the other "smaller" festivals.

Going to give it a miss this year and go for glastonbury next year

On first glance last year the lineup looked weak to me, but I did my research on all the msaller bands for the first time since 05 and found there was something for me to watch throughout the whole weekend. There's 14 bands on that annoucement I'll see and that number will grow when the rest of the lineup is revealed. Yes some of the placings are mental but to be honest I've never really enjoyed the mainstage experience, there's some really good duo's across the weekend, horrors into 2 door, cancer bats into coheed and the highlight of the weekend, cribs into at the drive in. I'm looking forward to it

I think this line-up just reflects the state of the music industry at the moment and with most of these bands being flogged to death on radio 1 it's unsurprising that they get such a high billing. I'm sure that it will appeal to the younger audience who will eat whatever Radio 1 shits out, but it just tells me that there are few new bands that I really care about seeing. And yes of course you're going to get some repeat bookings, but this appears to have happened based on no merit whatsoever. I think that festivals in general are going to really struggle this year, apart from V, which really days something about the current state of music!

I'm fairly sure this will be my 12th and last "Carling Weekend". Although it is not a terrible lineup and the headliners are good (although I'm not bothered about Kasabian), the rest of the lineup is so predictably average and has been for a few years.

There is only so many times I can spend a Sunday night wondering if I am going to be burned alive by some little prick with a lighter and deodorant can, when there aren't many bands I am excited about seeing over the weekend.

I shall enjoy the weekend, watch the Foo Fighters, then leave and never look back!

Same happens every year folk moan and bitch at the initial announcement, when there's more than 50% of the bill to still announce!!

All it will take is 3-4 bands on the other stages that you will want to see and all will be fine.

It's the best in a whole for me as it stands as nothing I want to see seems to clash for a change and bar a few patches the main stage alone looks ok, patches I'm sure that will no doubt be filled by acts in the tent, FR and Concrete Jungle

This is the good thing about festivals like Bestival, there wasn't violence before, but under 18's can't get into the festival without a 30 year old now. Which means, all little shits are gone! Unless they get in with their parents.

I wasnt expecting much to be honest, and was never going to get a weekend ticket, my days of buying a weekend ticket for Reading are long gone, and with underwhelming, middle of the road line-ups like this it's hardly surprising.

Coheed and Cambria, Billy Talent and Foo Fighters are the only bands on the line-up I'd have any interest in seeing, and they're all playing different days.

Was going to get a Foos day ticket, but it would literally be them I was going for.

The Paramore booking is a real headscratcher, I thought it was pretty unanimous that they were shite in 2010, and her voice wasn't up to the task of an arena that size, so booking them in the same slot with just a one year gap beggars belief!
