RDCL
anyone else think that the dance tent is really underwhelming? in the 2 years i've been some of the best moments i've had have been from the dance tent, but looking at it this year i think its really poor. i quite like metronomy, but this is the 3rd year they've played in a row, and they played in 2008. so its pretty uninspiring. just gave that azelia banks a quick listen, i always see nme raving on about her, played the first song that came up on youtube, only to find out its about giving a girl oral sex. no thanks. i wouldn't mind if she played a similar slot to chiddy bang in '10, but by the looks of it she'll play quite high up. i dont understand why they'd book her there, especially as she isn't really dance music. katy B i have no real issue with. not really my thing but i suppose she fits the bill. comparing it to the past 2 years, where they've had acts such as magnetic man, simian mobile disco, sbtrk, rusko, nero, subfocus etc, who are all major acts in the dance industry these days, it looks so poor. I was aware that there isn't that many acts suited for r/l's dance demographic that havent played recently, but surely people like flux pavilion, knife party, 2 bears, or even miike snow would be much better bookings. poor overall lineup imo. shoptildrop
Nope love Metronomy so think will be here instead of Kasiaban and Azelia banks whilst not my thing is really quite good at what she does I would give her a chance
Calzum
My question is why was the dance tent announced over the FR?!

mrtourette
Seems pretty strong to me, but then again I'm not a massive dance fan. These acts seem like they could have gone on other stages and have more hardcore dance acts in the tent.
Englishdragon
Looking at it Jaguar Skills is a good booking, the rest (like the rest of the line up) is very meh

rockinthecasbah
Metronomy's a slightly odd booking. They're good, but given how much they've played recently, and how their recent stuff hasn't got much of a dance element to it anyway, they seem misplaced. Though they're both horrible, I'd have thought announcing someone like Flux Pavillion or Skrillex would be more of a draw.
ArcticDan
Not really a proper Dance Stage yet, hopefully a few proper Dance/DJ acts get booked above them. Get The Glitch Mob and Pretty Lights FR!

PurpleFire
Saw Modestep at Global Gathering and they were totally astonishing, they packed out the biggest tent! Same size as NME if not bigger and to be quite frank they are on the wrong stage at Leeds! They could easily be on Main they were that good! Yes Its all about opinion but Dance tent is far to small for what is a rock band playing dance music!

nowyouregideon
Feed Me and The Japanese Popstars are both excellent bookings. As is Jaguar Skills. My problem with the dance stage is people Metronomy headlining, in what universe are they dance? But with Creamfields and SW4 falling on the same weekend as Reading and Leeds, it makes it next to impossible to book a whole day of big dance acts. Not really a proper Dance Stage yet, hopefully a few proper Dance/DJ acts get booked above them. Get The Glitch Mob and Pretty Lights FR! Cieran
I'm chuffed with Metronomy Headlining, I'll most definitely go see them instead of Kasabian. With Reading Festival being on the same weekend as SW4 and Creamfields, it'll be hell to try and get some massive names in dance music to play. Bisque
I've seen Modestep 5+ times & they are one of my favourite live acts. I like that the lead singer isn't just an MC doing "get your fucking hands in the air" but can, in the most part, generally sing quite well. I've not seen them since January (which I can barely remember due to intoxication) , but their live show has come on a long way & often have guest singers (Newham Generals, D Double E etc). Putting them up against Enter Shikari according to clashfinder is a bit stupid as I imagine the fan base (at Reading definitely) will be very similar but this might have been deliberate. If they were up against say The Shins, the tent would be well over capacity! Feed Me is going to be brilliant. I hope he brings his Teeth visuals but it looks like its during the day :-(

Bisque
Now Creamfields is going ahead with £500,000 of drainage improvements etc... What dance acts can we realistically expect for R&L? What genres will be represented? With Sub Focus already booked as headliner, I really can't see anyone bigger than the likes of DJ Fresh Live, Magnetic Man, Katy B play & can't place any other genre of dance music other than D&B/dubstep at the festival. Maybe Maya Jane Coles or Julio Bashmore (not clued up too well here). Skrillex?

LondonTom
It's unlikely they'll let a record company like Hospitality do a whole day/set their Take Over & Annie Mac Presents at Bestival which would eat up a lot of slots. I just can't see them managing to book many interesting acts for lower down the stage.
Bisque
Would be bloody ace if they did though! I think something like Annie Mac Presents could work more than Hospitality? As its just a sort banner for similar acts they might book anyway (BBC and all to! )
nowyouregideon
Hopefully a curveball like Infected Mushroom. But thats is me with extremely high hopes.
