Green Day originally booked?

Ok I'm not one to read into things too much usually but all things considered, I really think Green Day were originally booked to play, yet pulled out for whatever reason, meaning The Cure were drafted in, here's why:

1) The undercard on the Friday (Reading) seems to point to a more punk-pop headliner rather than an 80s stalwart; especially Paramore subbing, they'd lead almost perfectly into Green Day. Aside from BBC, the rest of the Friday seems to be pointing towards a punky headliner. Maybe this explains why they were drafted in so highly 3rd down? To add a bit more indie to the day?

2) THE PAUSE. For those who have seen that interview with Melvin regarding the line up last year and the huuuugely awkward pause when asked as to whether Green Day were headlining, am I right in saying that the Headliners would have been booked around the time of said interview last year? Just as the 2011 line up was announced? The pause mentioned would suggest that all was not right between Melvin and Green Day and some disagreement was in the air?

3) They've just been announced for Rock en Seine, presumably to play the Saturday, the day they would have had free if they'd have played Reading & Leeds.

Anyway, this is all just speculation on my part and nothing will change the line-up now! Just an interesting thought IMO!
