The line up is crap...

Ooooooh, I can smell the controvosy brewing down my phone line.

Seriously though, not a hell of a lot better than last year. Sunday is exceptionally poor IMO apart from the headliners (who everybody's seen before). I mean just look at Saturday; The Vaccines, Florence and her PR Machine, and then Kasabian. Sorry, is this V Festival? The only real highlight is At the Drive-in, and because it's the only real highlight so far, the NME will be effing rammed and you won't get anywhere near the front.

Before you all start bitching, lets just watch the ticket sales. They didn't sell last year because the line-up was cack. I doubt they will this year either.

Download for me this year.

I'm going to say it, the Sunday isn't worth much either. Kaisers are shit, and out of place with the rest, BFMV are a very bland metal band who aren't particularly impressive live, All Time Low are just another shitty pop-punk band. Gaslight Anthem are dull on record and even duller live. Eagles of Death Metal are entertaining but not an act to buy a festival ticket for. I've not heard much by Band of Skulls or Pulled Apart by Horses, but while I'd watch them if I was going and bored, they're not acts I'd either want to see or am looking to buy an album off what I have heard.

Hell, the two best bands on the day clash with each other!

The fact that the two bands people are bigging up most from 3rd-bottom are the ones at the bottom says it all. It's not that good.

Edit:

I don't really judge bands by the songs/albums personally, I base it on live preformances and I think they can both deliver live.

I wasn't arguing with Black Keys/Foos, Black Keys/Justice as an end. That's impressive. But people seem to be talking as if the whole day is great, when I see a good top 2, and bands worth checking out opening the stage, with a load of boring crap in between.

Aye. I'm not saying they shouldn't be at the festival, or that they're placed above their standing. But there's neither a brilliant flow to the day, nor bands with much cult status. I think the placings are as mish-mash as the other days. Compared to Friday, only BBC are probably above their position, but that day's getting slagged off (IMO rightly) because of the tastes of the people here.

Personally I think Crystal Castles aren't right for mainstage and I agree BBC are too high but for me the day just isn't right as it makes The Cure so out of place which is my main complaint but I do agree for the most part that the Friday has more of a flow to it.
