extremley happy with the result .... never in a million years did i think Alonso would be leading the championship in that dog of a car (he still has no chance unless these upgrades coming in the next few weeks and especially for spain are some sort of miracle) i think that win puts alonso 5th in the all time winners list behind Shumacher, Senna, Prost and Mansell!

in terms of pace its 5/6th best out there!

yes he was lucky.. but he also did not make one mistake all race and totally deserved the win! Perez was briliant too ... should have won maybe though.

funniest part of the race though was Red Bulls mixed signals to Vettel at the end of the race

Oh yeah and Coulthard mad me laugh...

Says Vettel was at fault and while inteviewing Horner, Horner said "I am sure David will back me up here" and David kind of changed his mind / got rescued by Jackie Wackey changing the subject quickly :)

Never before as a F1 driver squirmed more... Really needs to take Horner's member out of his mouth at times, grow some bollocks and behave like a proper independent observer... You won't see Brundle doing that shit and thats why he gets the big money :P

A sad weekend for Motor Racing.

I suspect that this will be the last time we see the Bahrain track. More trouble than it could be worth. Also, this is by far the worst of the new Herman Tilke tracks. It makes Valencia look like the old Monza circuit. Tilkeodrome shite at its very worst.

Its one big Love in between Ecclestone and the Bahrainian Royal Family, a rotten regime that is killing its own people for having pro-democracy protests. They give F1 huge amounts of money to have the grand prix there, and Ecclestone laps it up and gives them a platform in front of the worlds media to have a big party with their sheik friends and parade themselves as some kind of respectable government, pushing their UNIF1ED government propaganda all around the track. Meanwhile, on the other side of the island, the super poor people of Bahrain who are trying to use the presence of the world's media to get attention are being beaten and butchered in the streets.

Ecclestone has his failings but he is pretty much responsible for turning F1 into the huge global product it is now. He made it what is is... With all its pros and cons.

F1 is no more global now than it was in 1970 before Bernie started running the commercial side. I say "no more global" when that's slightly not true, but the 'more global' it is now is mirrored by the more global of the countries that are now a part of it - so the change in F1 regards that is simply a reflection of the changes in the world.

Where Bernie has a made a difference is in making it something which now requires mega-riches to play, rather than just super-riches - but those extra riches are all swallowed up inside the sport, so the only real change in the financial side is the money that Bernie himself is running off with.

(in that sense it's much like the Prem, where no one actually benefits via the hugely greater amounts involved except some inside the sport, while those on the outside pay much more to see the same thing as they were seeing before).

Anyone else disappointed with the Sky coverage? Bar Brundle, the rest appear to be struggling. They just seem to have way too many people involved.

I'd never listened to David Croft when he was on the radio so I don't know what he was like before, but he seems to be making a few mistakes each race.

Fuck's sake, how many points are McLaren's balls ups going to cost Hamilton this year?

They must have already cost him a good 25 already this year over 4 races, perhaps another 25 tomorrow now.

Tits
