Download improvements...

Hi Efesters,

I was just wondering what ideas and suggestions people have that would make Download Festival better.

This is one of my favourite festivals and even though I adore it, I think there are a few slight improvements that would make it more pleasant. I must point out that I dont want different band suggestions as that could be argued for years. Just to get the ball rolling here are a few of my suggestions that I have noticed over the years....

1. More water refill facilities (sso that when its baking hot, you dont have to keep remortgaging the home to pay for water from the stalls)

2. Stop setting up one way routes for fans walking to and from main stage to smaller stage (I think it was last year when I tried going back the way I came to be informed that I needed to go the other way as it had all of a sudden become a one way system half way through the weekend)

Anyway lets see what other suggestions come up....

A bigger entrance at the arena on day 1 as i always find it a pain getting in for the first band on Friday morning

The walk is the only draw back for me from the arena to the exit. But even that can be good, bit of banter and that.

Actually another improvement, the Nightime entertainment

DJ's in the tents to play longer.

The booze on site cheaper and more on offer

Bring back Dominos and make it cheaper

Better selection on in the cinema, and run it 24hrs a day, I wouldn't mind watching sum Family Guy in the morning trying to sober up. Don't get one DVD of the Simpsons and play the same episode on repeat for 2hrs like last year!

Another thing I just thought of!

Some Wooden cut outs of people like Ozzy, Slash whatever, and you could get your group together and have photos taken with them for a laugh, could have Download 2012 under or above it. Cool memories

I love the idea of a zip wire from camp to main arena... how fab would that be??? Especially when drunk

The walk between the car park - Arena - campsite is a disgrace!

Over an hour walk between my tent and the car, you are having a laugh!

We spent the majority of wednesday walking!

I think after you do the big walk, makes you appreciate the festival even more, as its all out the way and then you can just chill knowing its just fun for the next 5 days. I actually think getting in at Download isn't as bad as other festivals, yeah theres a big queue but once you're through that, the wristband and the village is right there, so post queue it's clean sailing apart from finding a good pitch

I think Download should have Brothers as a Sponsor and get one or two Brothers Bars! I was a regular at the one at Glasto last year, and it was fantastic.

Sadly they're tied in with the Gaymers group for cider, so no can do.

Dunno why they don't appear as a sponsor on line up like Tuborg does

I think they are both owned by Carlsberg? as most of the time it is Carlsberg beer tankers behind the beer tent?

they were definitely owned by the same company when Live Nation did the beer deal, but I've got a feeling that Gaymers got split out as an independent company about a year later.

I like Tuborg. Especially in Denmark. It's better than the pish we get served up at T in the Park for sure - count your blessings.
