All this delay regarding the announcement of a KISS tour date in the UK and the wait for the first names for Sonisphere seems like Deja Vu.

That theory that KISS can't headline a festival is very beautiful and all but the truth is that there aren't many bands that can fit a festival like Sonisphere and there's even less on the road. If KISS can headline European festival in countries with half of the population of the city of London, I'm sure they are a good fit for a festival like Sonisphere.

I also can see Aerosmith there as they will announce the first Europeans dates later this week and some of them will be festivals.

that only proves the population part of things tho, not whether KISS are able to sell shows at the same rate in each country.

I'd say that last year's Soni got to show KISS's UK selling power. I'd also say they'd be exceedingly brave promoters to offer up the same band this year.

I said that about last years line up and was told the acts booked were all booked on account of how many tix they'd sell. And not because soni were left with slim pickings.

But yeah. I get the impression that while dl are announcing ahead of soni. Soni are left with whats left which might not be alot.

Either way. I dont see an announcement this side of xmas. That sleigh has flown...

But yeah, could they headline? Yes. Are they a good choice as a headliner? Will they shift tickets?

Team Sonisphere is sad to say that it has now been confirmed that Sonisphere UK will take a year off in 2013. The three Sonisphere Festivals to date at Knebworth in 2009/2010/2011 set a very high standard and indeed 2011 was voted the bes...t festival line up by The UK Festival Awards. We think it is really important that the event only runs when it has a line up that sets it apart from the competition whilst also carrying a ticket price that allows us to offer real value for money to the music fans. We were hoping to do that in 2013 but unfortunately it wasn't possible to fulfil both aims with the principle problem of there being a lack of available headliners of the calibre of previous festivals at Knebworth. We made offers to over a dozen major artists but for various reasons none of these offers lead to securing a strong bill. The good news is that the Sonispheres in Amneville, France and Milan, Italy are already on sale and UK fans who fancy jumping on a budget airline and seeing the mighty Iron Maiden at Sonisphere festivals in sunnier climates can buy tickets via http://www.Sonispherefestivals.com/ in pounds sterling. Watch out for more Sonsiphere European news to be announced early 2013 Team Sonisphere
