Turning it into a 2 day event with smaller headliners and cheaper tickets would have been cool. I always thought there was room for a rock fest with "sub sized" headliners, like Bestival.

We probably didn't need any more confirmation but Soni are pretty much admitting here that the UK festival market isn't viable for them.

the owner of knebworth park says that too, which in simple terms means they are still talking about it - nothing concrete.

they were planning 2013 when 2012 got canned - where did that get them? oh wait nowhere.

also look at the realism of it - the idea worked for a few years (as a touring festival) going from place to place but oh look at this year - france, italy and spain. its fallen through heavily in the last year or two and the brand as a whole has taken a hit.

plus people could be spouting crap just to attempt to generate interest in stuff that may not even happen.

It was said after they cancelled this year's event that they were already planning 2014's event, we are already a good 6 months on from there. If the owners of Knebworth Park are anticipating it's return it's certainly positive news.

I think if Download is what it appears it's going to be next year Soni may be able to claw back; however I think the line up would have to be huge to restore confidence in the brand.
