The only reason I thought of it being Foo Fighters is because they've done well on the Download poll and it fits with Black_Crow's idea of it being one act who has played every festival and another that is a little bit of a rarity; it would seem peculiar for them to get Foo Fighters though, just as it's such a coup

Sonisphere's layout, toilet management, etc. was all nicer than Download's. I don't believe it's got a chance in hell of returning though.

It means they have more acts to choose from but less need to choose the acts carefully

It means they can pay less for the same quality due to lack of competiton. Alternatively they could play the same as before for higher quality, but why bother.
