jump
Or the usuals like wembley and the O2. I actually listen to this band, my point is that you pick up stuff. Maybe I'm wrong but it would be absurd for them not to tour the UK properly. Aside from the fact we've actually been told UK and Europe dates are coming soon. carrythebanner
I meant either or, and yeah I assume they'll play one other arena in London because emirates is either the end or beginning of the tour. You're also missing my point; a band as big as green day won't skip the UK, they never have. They won't just do one date for the whole country. Besides that there have been plenty of rumours hinting at UK shows. It's not just a case of me saying they're going to play because I want them to. But while they may not be as big as they were, the demand is still there for live shows. It's just that not everyone wants to go to stadiums. Andy0808 v3.0
It won't happen, if it does then i'll say fair game. But i wouldn't get your hopes up and suggest you get a ticket for the Emirates show. If they do announce more dates, they won't be anywhere near London you can quote me on that. 2004, was Milton Keynes the only UK stop on the tour? (minus R+L)

thetime
Wouldnt they just announce one stadium show to test the water? Perhaps thats why they have not announced more. Green day are a bit of a strange band and have a young following when ever they play. There fans do grow out of them pretty easily, well thats how I see it anyway. Where the fans of say radiohead, oasis, metallica will still be fans of the band. Green day seem to have alot of fans 13-21 and then look a bit silly being a green day. Not a go at green day or there fans(saw them couple of times myself) but thats how it cones accross. Do they still do that boring thing at gigs in getting 3 or 4 out of the crowd? thetime
Announcing 1 staduim show to see if they should do more is a stupid idea, most bands will have thier tour dates sorted before announcing because of the logistics and all that crap especially with over seas tours. I've seen loads of old folk at Green Day gigs.
jump
Dont acts add dates if they sell well? They may do, still stand by my statement though.
dip
The only reason they've only announced the Emirates show is because they leaked that gig on Radio 1 and couldn't back out of that, or fear the negative press that would come with it. There's more gigs lined up, they're just not being announced yet because of the rehab thing
thetime
Normally it's an extra date in London after it sells out in 5 mins which they planned for not an extra tour based on the succes of 1 date. You're a being very silly if you think a band that have been going since the 80's hasn't got an established fanbase. A more accurate statement would be Green Day have lost some younger fans which they gained from the American Idiot hype not they are constantly gaining/losing fans based on those people's age. jump
You really think greenday have alot of fans from the 80s/90s? I would say your talking rubbish. How many guys/gals is there 30s/40s wearing green day tshirts? I know your response.
thetime
Not from the 80 as their success came in the 90s and I remember when I was a teenager talking to my uncle (in his 40s at the time) and he told me he was Green Day fan and I laughed at him for liking them. I only came around on them after seeing them at Reading and enjoyed how much fun they were. Are you trolling as your last couple of posts about bands booking 1 staduim show to judge whether or not to do a tour and there's no Green Day fans over 21 are very stupid? jump
You seem to think anyone that does not agree with you is trolling. Can I not have an opinion different to yours without you accusing me of trolling?
thetime
When was the last time I accused someone of trolling and you have been known to troll before. I simply find your statements that bands will book a huge staduim show to decide to do a tour or not and there's no Green Day fans over 21 stupid and the reason for them being as such given. Gucci Piggy
I can see this, I guess deadpan, subtlety and sarcasm don't some across well on the internet unless you use smileys afterwards and I'm not one for that. As I've said before if being misunderstood is the price to pay for being open and trying to help people see a different side then so be it, I'm happy to be a villian to stop these forums turning into a facebook page where people just make a ridiculous comment about their favourite band with not danger of a response. People should have the right to respond just as much as people have the right to voice an opinion in the first place and I'm happy to take one for the team for the greater good. In a way I'm a bit like Jesus. Deadpan or arrogance? You can decide.
