I'm 28,got into Green Day around Nimrod time and been to see them a fair few times.I still enjoy some of their stuff and would definately watch them at a festival but I wouldn't bother paying to see them anymore otherwise.Still consider them a legendary band but there just isn't any appeal to them live anymore for me.

inclined to agree with you, its a sort of "been there seen that" situation because lets be honest every performance (even if its a different album tour) is 99% identical. they need to change something up slightly so it brings back the appeal.

It wasn't Dookie they did at Reading?My mistake.One of them.

They didn't do any of them. They told NME they would play the whole of Dookie but it turned into a greatest hits set.

Did they tell NME? I thought the story came from an interview with Zane Lowe, when he asked them about the rumoured secret set and they (Billie Joe?) said 'if' they did one it 'would be cool' to do a Dookie set, but he also said the same about playing the American Idiot musical. NME then did what they do best and put some spin on it to make it sound more interesting.

Apparently Billie's breakdown was due to him turning 40 and one of his mates died and the record label reckon he could probably be in rehab till next year.

Green Day will be supported on their London Emirates Stadium show on June 1st by Kaiser Chiefs and All Time Low.

Beez made a good point about this, it's pretty scummy of them to bring Kaiser Chiefs with them. There are much more deserving bands that could benefit from 60k audience.

Their job will be to engage the crowd and keep them ticking over with above-average performances of songs that people will be familiar with. That's what they do and why they're a pretty good festival/outdoor band that will usually get a decent crowd interested.

Kaiser Chiefs always play really energetic sets & have a back catalogue of well known, sing along songs... I would have thought they would be a brilliant warm up act to get the crowd going.

I also think its great of them to feature a British band for you.

They've now cancelled all of their 2012 dates and most of their 2013 dates, they've also pushed up the release of the albums.

Metallica filled in for them at a fest and played American Idiot and started going on about how the world needs Green Day so my money is Metallica to headline R&L and playing Dookie in full!
