For me, it's pretty standard.

I worked a reviewer for a really small time site in Liverpool a couple of years ago, it consisted of me going to see bands i like for free, so i'd do it when my friends didn't want to.

Just get the times you for the show, and turn up for the act, my way of seeing of is, When do you talk to people in gigs? You're too busy singing, jumping and usually knocking two shites out of each other... to notice.

Job Done. Nowadays, i do it alot the theory, just because someone doesnt wanna do it, why should i miss out? Not as good as without your mates, but still great.
