Creamfields Newbie here!

Hi all

Just bought my tickets for Creamfields 2012! Never been to Creamfields, in fact never been to a Festtival before so I'm hoping i'm in for a treat. I wanted to run by a few things to make sure I'm prepared as best as possible and also to see if I can get some chat from some quality fellow ravers!

First of all I'm going with at least 4 other friends so far, so I wont be short of company. Collectively we've been trying to get organised with the following game plan ( see below) but if anyone has any suggestions or advice I'd appreciate the help!

- So we have Sat/Sun camping and we'll be travelling down from Edinburgh early morning Saturday on the train. We're bringing bare essentials, clean set of clothes for travelling back in and the clothes on our backs, with a coat just in case the weather is mince. I'm aware of the alcohol rule (plastic containers, only 1 crate and 1 bottle of spirits per person) so I have that covered as well.

- My concern at the moment is the crowd. I've seen vids from previous years and heard a lot of great stories from friends so i'm fairly certain this event caters to a great bunch! I have also heard my share of sob stories and events gone wrong. I'm a little concerned about that (although I am starting to see that it seems to be the minority that have trouble). I'm into all sorts of music so I have a few persons and a daft mohawk hair do! I don't really want to be attracting negative attention from anyone. Like I said the vast majority of the crowd seem like a wicked bunch and I dont have much fear there. I have a couple of friends who had a bad time in 2010 due to a few less than friendly festival goers, so just wanted to know what security is like overall.

- The plan is to bring bare essentials. Nothing valuable, even getting a cheap phone so that I'm not risking loosing my iPhone!

- Although I'm going with friends I am hoping to make a bunch of new ones down there so I'd love to be involved in any meet ups or anything at the festival.

Anyway hi to everyone anyway and if you see me at creamfields come say hi! I love a good chat with like-minded crazies!

Also as a wee conversation starter what artists are you guys totally geared up for? I think I like too many to mention but I'm gonna try anyway.

Saturday I reckon I'll be spending a lot of time at BBC Radio 1Xtra since i'm a big fan of Koan Sound, Skream and Benga. Also need to see Skrillex as I saw him last month and my mate had a bad trip and left very soon into his set, so as a treat I promised we'd see him at Creamfields! Almost a little gutted because I know I wont get to see everyone I want, just far too many to see all of them. In terms of healiners I'm looking forward to Avicii, Deadmau5, Tiesto and Feed Me. Probably missed a ton I want to see but its hard to keep track!

4 months is way too long to wait. Super stoked about this!

The same advice applies as at all big events. Common sense is your best friend & you seem to be in possession of all your marbles so you'll be fine!! Keep an eye on here for meetup details
