The Inaugural No Direction Home Festival, 8-10 June 2012

So .... I note, with some disappointment, that the campsite doesn't open until 10.00 am on Friday morning. I've really enjoyed those nice, relaxed EOTR Thursdays for the last couple of years,

On a brighter note, I don't have to drive 350 miles each way!

Who's going, anyway?

I'm bloody excited about this. Can't wait to see what the site looks like. I had a ticket for the first EOTR but couldn't go due to work difficulties, so am very excited to be at the first NDH. I really hope that they've sold enough tickets for it to continue because there are so few 5000 person festivals, and fewer still that have Dirty 3 playing.

i'm in. although whether its for a full three days is another matter, as leave is tight so may well disappear sunday (which works okay as i'm not a major fan of mr hawley).

is my memory failing me, or was there a thread somewhere with stage times?

Can't wait - just hope my 2 pre-teen boys don't spend all their time in the games area as at last year's EOTR. Think they liked Lykke Li and Tree Fight if nothing else, but not sure what the Scando-pop equivalent is this year (Wet Nuns ?).

I'm going more to hear new stuff than see bands I'd heard of, but based on research inspired by this site am looking forward to lots, especially Laura J, the Cornsheds and Trembling Bells.

Shame the campsite opens on Friday but the night out in Worksop before will make up for that...

yep I'm really looking forward to NDH. Bringing a couple of friends with me, one who's never been to a festival before so should be a good introduction for her .. Welbeck looks really lovely and there's a good range of bands, some I've seen before and plenty of new ones to discover - really looking forward to seeing Dirty Three. Wonder if there'll be any late band announcements?

No! I always look forward to seeing Dan Lefkowitz(Futur Primitif) - has this been confirmed?

On another note, as Thursday camp is out, we're thinking of traveling up from Wales on the Thursday - anywhere interesting you can recommend for a nights pitch in a camper van?

Dan's limited edition album (Wilder Shores of Love) last year was so beautiful, was hoping to see him again.

But yeah, a Friday lunchtime entry is fine by me as I'll be one day less in need of a bath come the end of the weekend. :-), in fact maybe 2 if I decide to bail out on Mr Hawley.

Comparing the plan to the satellite image on Google maps (yes, I have got a quiet afternoon!!) it looks as though the site is over 500m top to bottom so I think there will be loads of space - I guess that is at least as bit as EotR's current incarnation, with maybe a third the number of people?

Really getting excited now...
