what's the story with those guest passes you can buy for £99.

have i read it wrong and missed something?

from this advert it seems all you get is a pass to go to a bar and restaurant.

£99 seems a lot just to have somewhere to have a bit of a sit down and go to a bar with a roof!!?? surely its better to be in the main arena anyway? thats where the atmos is.

admittedly it might be the best £99 you've ever paid if its pissing down.

it also says you can have unlimited access to the guest area.just in case you thought that your £99 would only get you in a certain amount of times, ha ha.

I've no experience of this particular one, but in general "VIP" areas offer almost nothing extra, and certainly nothing worth the price.

The best they get is perhaps cleaner or better toilets, less queues for the bar, and perhaps camping nearer the arena.

But some people love to show off by pretending they're special in some way, so there's always people happy to shell out.

You get to feel speshul cos theer is the chance you might bump into a band hanger-onner or even a roadie. Hell, I even heard that an actual band member went to the bar once. £99 is all I'm intending on spending on beer in the arena so doubling that amount is just a bit daft IMHO. Each to their own though, somethings value is what people are prepared to pay for it.

It's fucking great in there, chilled out bar, food cooked to order, fantastic bogs, shelter from rain and a generally great atmosphere. Get sniffy about it all you like - this is our 3rd year on the trot - although the first year we have paid for it directly, we were in RIP camping the past two years, and it's included in RIP

if you sit down with a calculator, its not worth it. as I said - this is our 3rd year in there, and this year we actively paid extra for it, rather than it being included in RIP. in our opinion - its totally worth it. as i said, people can say "pah! more money than sense" all they like - this is my main festival of the year, if it costs me £800 to go inc beer money - i dont mind, its the one weekend a year i can completely switch off and be an irresponsible herbert for the whole time.
