Will any of the games be shown? What happened during the world cup a couple of years ago?

I probably will. There's not much on between Kyuss and Soundgarden I want to watch on the Sunday.

I will just find out the score later I think (it's only a group game anyway).

I'll be seeing bands non-stop through Friday and Saturday. I often feel like chilling out a bit more on the Sundays of festivals anyway.

I might watch Kamchatka and Shinedown, and I'll almost certainly watch Refused, but I've seen and wasn't particularly impressed by Rival Sons, Lamb of God, Megadeath and Anthrax on previous occasions.

Edit: It's the first round of group games at the time. I know because I bidded for and missed out on tickets to the final round of group games + quarter finals.

Edit 2: And they're 5pm/7.45 kickoffs anyway. Screw that.

They're 4pm and 7.45 KO's and England don't play until Monday at 4pm, so no none will be shown at Download. For the world cup the other year they just did it cus England played USA on the Saturday evening

And some of us like to watch interesting teams play, not just England.

Me to but you can watch football anytime but fair enough each to their own.

Germany vs Portugal & Spain vs Italy might be good but personally I won't be watching football there (if they even show the other games?)

I would have if there'd been a 3 o'clock kickoff on Sunday and it was a good game. Half-decent bands trump it though.

But that game will never be played again. It's much more likely that you'd be able to see the bands again playing a relatively similar set.

Not that I'll be missing any bands I want to see, . But I wouldn't mind the option to see the games if I didn't have anything to do.

Then they should show the 1st round group games of the non-English teams for people that would rather watch that.

ah you're right its 5pm, originally it was 4pm when they did the draw, cus I wrote it down, unless the guy on BBC was wrong.

I watch as much football as possible, I watch every game at the Euro's/World Cup if I can.

What I was saying was last year, the only game Download showed was England v USA, as theres not an England game on during Download, I can't see there being any shown. If you want to see a game that bad, go into Donington, there will be pubs showing games

As i'm welsh, major football tournaments clashing with festivals hasn't been a problem.

saying that,if Wales ever qualified(i know) i'd probably waych the game.youre at the festival for at least 72 hours,so to spend 2 of those hours watching football isn't exactly blowing the £200 youve spent on as ticket.

also, if you go to places like glastonbury people go to the cimema or listen to poetry instead of watching the bands so wathching football instead of the bands is just the same.(except football is better than cinemas and poetry,ha ha)

I watched the football at Glastonbury and regretted it a bit. So if there even was a game this year I wouldn't be going to watch it. Plus with a line-up like this!!
