Rockness Express - An exercise in extracting the urine?

I don't understand how a direct charted train can take 12h30m from Inverness to Birmingham when the equivalent journey on normal trains takes just 9h30 including 2 changes?

Its now not due to get to Inverness until 22:00, nevermind what time we'll actually get to the site. What time's it go dark now?

Bit of a joke it not getting ther till 10pm. I guess it's down to when they can use the train lines as obviously there will be other trains given priority on the line.

Still, kind of ruins the point in getting there on the Thursday if you don't get there till about 11pm after a 12hr journey.

Pretty much planning on tying myself into a bin liner for the first night there...

Up at 4 to get to London, then not getting to Inverness until after 10 whilst drinking all day, not eating and then with an epic tent-pitching final exam is all a bit too Kryton Factor for me. Knew I should've been a Girl Guide.

Im just wondering.. Do you guys think that it will be a problem brining all the beer/booze/cider on the train as it says that you cant bring too much luggage. And if not, are there any stores open in Inverness by the time of the arival. I am from Norway and I am ariving in London arround midnight on wednesday.. Will I have any possibilities to buy beer in london at this time? (In Norway we have this stupid rule that says you cant buy alcohol after 8pm...)

Also, i see that there is a "bring inn booze at the first run" rule... Does that mean that if i run out im not able to stack up on some more if i go to Inverness to bring it back into the festival

Scotland has a similar law in that you cant buy alcohol from shops after 10PM. You could always jump on a shuttle bus the next day and get booze from the Tesco supermarket on route to Inverness. The one run rule for alcohol wasn't enforced last year, or at least that I am aware of!

If you need to go back out to get booze, couldn't you just go back in through the entrance where the shuttle buses are, because people on buses will be taking everything in one trip. Ask someone if they could take your booze in and you could take their rucksack and tent?

That is the smartest thing I have heard in a while! Thank you very much! :-D

We are arriving in london about 1030pm tonight. Wich means that the time to get some beer is VERY limited. Any suggestions?
