Found this pretty interesting, don't know how much of it is true but if it is it gives us an idea of what ticket sales are like.

It states they've put on another 3000 Reading weekend tickets due to weekend tickets almost selling out.

Another 3000 tickets brings reading capacity up to 93,000 with Leeds been 80,000 all though it's assumed that Leeds has sold less tickets than Reading.

Look at the official site's article:

which has already been discussed here:

Seems to suggest that they've raised it to 90k, so I imagine they held back to 87k and reckon it's doing well enough to employ whatever extra staff they'd need to get a 90k license or something like that.

According to the license the capacity at Reading last year was 85,000 plus 4,999 'guests'. I'm guessing that only the first amount counts towards the capacity quoted in press releases and such (as although that technically is 90k it was only 85k that was quoted), and that this year it was 87,000 + 4,999 guests and they got an increase to 90,000 + 4,999 guests to try and take advantage of the improving weather (while the paying capacity has increased by a few thousand every year for the last few years the number guests quoted on the license in that period has always been 4,999).
