I really can't see anything other than a Spain Germany final. Germany to win. They are by far the best teams in Europe. The rest of Europe are playing catch up

I thought the commentary was a bit unfair on France going down the whole "Not interested, bad team spirit" argument. To me this is just an example of poor pundits/commentators who are incapable of deeply analyzing a game, so go for the easy option. I have no doubt France wanted to win as much as Spain but truth is they werent good enough and were overrated coming into the tournament. They lack leadership and experience but I expect they will improve.

The fact is thats 8 consecutive international knockout games in which spain havent conceded, its actually pretty hard to look impressive against these players. France looked no worse to me than most of the other sides Spain have dominated in knockout games over recent years.

Depends if germany do like every other team do and change there style of play becuase there shit scared of spain. Totally agree spain germany final, which if they both play there style could be an excellent match...Pity I wont see it!

I think Bobby Chalton was pissed when he carried the olympic torch this morning. After all, that can be the only explanation for his words of "if England win tonight they'll go on and win it".

Cos after all, Italy is the hard game. Germany followed by Spain will be a breeze in comparison.

Italy v England should be the closest of the qf they are in my opinion 4th and 5th best of the 5 left.

As for Germany being better than Spain, they look more likely to score goals but a lot more likely to concede. I would put Spain favourites due to their consistency in knockout.

I'm a fan of knowledgable commentators about the game who tell me something I don't know, trouble is you don't get them on BBC or itv, some amazing footballing brains on some of the podcasts I listen to. I just find it frustrating, I know they just care about the premiership, getting paid and playing golf but in their position I hope I would take pride in my work and do some research.

Does that mean the more you win, the more you have done in the game?

Has Nicky butt done more in the game than Gerrard, has David may done more in the game than jamie carragher? Has berbatov done more in the game than van persie?

Justice done and the 4 best teams through to the semis. I thought England were terrible today, high profile players Rooney and Gerrard again not good enough in a big knockout game. Midfield ponderous and completely non existant. The defence were solid but still gave Italy a hatful of chances, against a side like Germany it could have been another thrashing. Italy may have slightly better players but the gulf surely isnt good enough to merit the domination of the Italians.

I personally think the England side have had an extremely easy ride this tournament, expectations were set at an unrealistic low level, inconsistnet with recent international form. I know its a result game but I dont think that justifies some of the games where they have been dominated so much. A team like England shouldnt be winning tournaments but I think they should be competing better with the likes of Italy and France (neither amazing sides) rather than just being satisfied by stopping them scoring.
