You can't have carnival and a Chelsea match on, Reading don't play at home with the festival is on, LFC/ EFC don't play at home when Aintree is on.

Does seem harsh otherwise, UEFA cup teams always play on the Sunday, you'd hope Newcastle could put out some kind of second team in their match at that stage though, wouldn't have been slightly surprised if they had anyway

Apparently QPR have tabled a bid for Ji-Sung Park.

He could be on his way for 5 million if rumours are to be believed. If he was to go for 5 million that would be a great bit of business for the lad. Considering how much of a great servant to the club he as been over the years, and that we signed him for 4 million.

Would be sad to see the fella go but I think it would be a good time for him to move on.

£2m rising to £5m supposedly.

Anyone knows much about this Bigirimana lad we've just signed from Coventry? Reports are good, apparently an Essien-type midfielder. Supposedly he's not been signed to go straight into the first team, but he played a fair few games last season.

Terry looks like hes fucked.

yup, looks like it. It's going to be hard for him to be found not guilty of using particular words when he's admitting to the court that he did. Then again, given that 'Arry got off anything is possible.

If Terry's version of events is true, I actually feel a bit sorry for him. It sounds much like the 'injured party' is expecting a different set of rules to operate around their own behaviour than they wish to be applied to the other side.

While that doesn't excuse Terry's supposed choice of words, it does remind me of the old adage that you shouldn't dish out what you can't take back.

If it was the FA tribunal he's be more than fucked as there's a mountain load of evidence, but I guess that comes next.

My genuine question is, is there enough proof for a court to charge him? Could they let him off by saying he was only responding to being wound up? I have no idea how this charge would work. Although saying that I guess his team must believe that there is little chance of him being let off because thats why they delayed the trial.

I read yesterday that the trial was delayed on the request of Chelsea, but supposedly not for Terry's benefit. It was Chelsea not wanting to release players as witnesses until the end of the season that supposedly had it delayed.

There's certainly enough evidence to charge him - that's why he's in court. Whether that evidence is enough to convict him is another thing.

As for the winding up by Ferdinand bit, I'm no idea how the court will view that. From one angle it's certainly (if true) a mitigating factor, but I'd guess that in law it doesn't make much difference - a person has either done something illegal, or not.

However, it appears that Terry is admitting to those words leaving his mouth, but as a denial of having said those words a moment earlier, which makes things even more confusing. Given that a "factual" recital of the same words is necessary for this court case to happen, it can't be the case that factual use of those words is an offence in itself.

From what I've read, his defence was that it was sarcastic. Tbf, I've never said that to anyone sarcastically, but it can be used as a defence. The law he's being done under says it has to be shown he said it when it was likely to cause harrasment, alarm or distress, or indicate hostitlity towards a particular group or race.

I do wonder how far the "I didn't mean it" excuse can stretch though.

Didn't work for Suarez.

a different type of 'court', where the rules of evidence and conviction are very different - far weaker - to what Terry has in a real court.

I'm guessing that could well be 'useful' to him, because if he gets found not guilty in court he'll probably put an argument that the FA have no right to try to convict him on the less-sound basis of 'balance of probabilities' rather than the 'beyond reasonable doubt' that's used in court.

In this case there is a man who has been caught on film appearing to say something which he admits to saying. In my mind he looks screwed... but who knows.

I've just read a report in one of today's papers and I'm still confused about what Terry is saying went on. There's defo something about a false accusation in the mix of it all, but I'm not grasping what.

That might the reporting by the papers of course, but it also might be Terry having tied himself in a knot with the different excuses he gave at different points when he was quizzed about it.

Isn't what his saying now, is that he asked if Anton was accusing him of saying those words but he actually used those words? It's how I've took what I've read so far but it seems odd given Anton has said he didn't know until he got home and watched it again?

that's about my 'understanding' of it, but I'm not really understanding it.:lol:

Whatever, it proves the lie of his claim that he's never used racist language.
