Why would either deny it? From liverpools perspective it keeps his name in the paper and possibly encourages others to make a similar bid. From West Hams point it makes the fans think that they really mean business, although it could drive prices up for other targets.

I don't suscribe fully to your point of view. You may have an argument it's good PR in terms of some football supporters who live in cloud cuckoo land. However, you miss the fact that to the others that don't (the cynics...?) it's very much a case of bad PR.

The thing is, had Suarez had a case through real courts, he would have been found not guilty. There's stronger evidence against Terry than there was against Suarez. Suarez was deemed "probably guilty" by the FA, who really should do the same to Terry.

If the transfer is guaranteed if liverpool stay up, I think the offer from West Ham is a good one that probably wont be bettered elsewhere. I think its a case of forgetting the transfer fee and cutting losses, the fact the bid has been accepted should be a strong hint that his time is up. The fact he doesnt want to accept a permanent deal makes me wonder if he is gambling on Rodgers failing and hoping to get another chance with someone else at liverpool.
