pink_triangle
Is it any worse than losing a final in Cardiff?
pink_triangle
I think todays result puts villa safe, I think that squad has shown a lot of spirit to bounce back from some of the lows. Southamptons goal difference means (bar a set of amazing results) that they are safe as well. I think Sunderlands goal difference should also make them safe. Norwich and Newcastle will no doubt be looking over their shoulder but I personally cant see wigan winning again this season.

zero000
http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2013/may/07/sir-alex-ferguson-manchester-united Is Fergie retiring then? That would really make the PL interesting next year!

zero000
I am a bit sceptical, I have one of those feeling that the only way SAF will leave old trafford is in a body bag. The cynic in me wonders if creating a false rumour is the perfect way to take attention from the noisy neighbours with a cup final approaching. eFestivals
I am a bit sceptical, I have one of those feeling that the only way SAF will leave old trafford is in a body bag.Didn't he say just a few weeks ago that he's go a few more years in him yet?In which case it's looking like he might have been pushed rather than is jumping (tho I strongly suspect any announcement will suggest differently).I'm guessing that the management have started to have worries about his age. eFestivals
PMSL - pushed!!! Ferguson gave no indication he was thinking over his future when writing Sunday's programme notes against Chelsea. He said: "I certainly don't have any plans at the moment to walk away from what I believe will be something special." pink_triangle
Maybe its the best time to go, chelsea and man city will likely be stronger next season so no guarantees of retaining the league. I suspect when Fergie looks back he will feel man utd could have done slightly more in europe, I think he would have liked that 3rd champions league title but looking at the last couple of season maybe feels they are a few years aways from that. Moyes and Mourinio are the 2 names that seem to be getting the most coverage and both would jump at the job. My choice would be Ancelotti who I feel would be a good safe pair of hands on what could wasily be quite a short term appointment.
eFestivals
Rubbish! You sure?Fergie's made strong statements about carrying on recently. You know he's going into hospital for a hip operation shortly, don't you? And that he'll miss pre-season because of it?I'm guessing that that combined with his age has caused a realisation within the club that it's better he goes now. zero000
Mouriniho would be good but he's not likely to be at Old Trafford for the long term so Moyes is probably the safer choice in my eyes, even though he hasn't been proven at this level before. eFestivals
it's a poisoned chalice for whoever does take the job. If I were a top manager I think I'd want to swerve it for one where you have a fair chance of matching the expectations.I reckon it's going to be Moyes, same as I've thought for 5+ years. He's by far the best like-for-like replacement out there. If it was moaniho it would be a total change of club culture by Utd.

TheGayTent
Pushed? Possibly. But it won't have been the club, if it's happened at all it will have been his family. Of course the drunk has denied it previously. He isn't stupid and won't want himself to have distracted from the ultimate goal of the title. Now that's out of the way, he can have 1 week of intense press coverage before bowing out in one final hurrah. Never liked him but you have to respect him. Fair play. TheGayTent
I have only seen us win finals at Cardiff (1 ldv, 1 welsh cup) so its difficult to compare!! To be honest Im not even sure the BSP should be at wembley, the attendance was 16k, even add a team like luton to the mix it itsnt going to go much over 30k.
